This would be much better, but this...

I support this change, but I fear it is too late. 'The Pixar Collection' has already been ruined by a combination of mismatched artwork, different finishes and pointless embossing :(

Sort of lost interest in these :(

that's precisely the reason I want to push this change. the pixar and disney collections should've been a license to print money, but instead they'll end up with warehouses full of crap no one wants. the main reason these collections exist is hi def ninja, so if we all rally together and in unison show we wont accept what they've 'designed' and demand something better, maybe they'll take the hint & we'll end up with a collection to be proud of.

maybe it's too late but if we move quick enough we can get this done...if it dont work it's their loss.

updated pic showing the 'rim' of the steelbook with a matching colour scheme rather then silver.

That would be awesome.
I don't know why the designers of some of these steels love to have a stark back cover.
Disney is all about colour and brightness and joy etc.
I will get them either way though as I only owned about 6 Disney movies on blu ray before this collection so I wont be double dipping with many at all.
Wreck it Ralph was one of the best changes they made and I think we can all agree it was for the best. I hope they take notice of this one too.
Nice work Boba!

EDIT* I realise this is pixar, I get them mixed up sometimes. Same deal though.

gona bump my previously proposed back art. I want a brave steelbook. but i refuse to pay for the crap uninspired back art. if enough of us get behind this we can change the back.

so if you'd prefer back art like this, quote this post, let your voice be heard.

say no to crap artwork.

give the ninjas what they want.

I don't think you guys realize how this works.

It's not a matter of searching on the web and finding the best clip art and then pasting together a SteelBook in 5 min.

I used to work for Warner Brothers licensing and there are stacks of pre-approved clip arts which can be used for merchandise. Oftentimes a manufacturer would even have to submit a sample first for approval before it is given the green light.

If you want something that is not pre-approved, it may take months to get a request through for change. That is a wait time that is usually not tolerable because you have to get your product out the door sooner than that.

You guys have nothing to lose, and on occasion maybe the SteelBook fairies grant your wish, but it is really a much more complicated process than just point-click-print.

get what you're saying. but its not simply a case of grab any old artwork. the reason behind the picture was key. like i did with wreck it ralph i chose a commonly used image heavily used in marketing the film, both before it's theatrical and home video release. As well as on merchandising and on packaging for dvds, blurays etc it's even been used as back art for the viva case.

these commonly used images have normally been frequently approved for both advertising the film as well as approval to be used in various releases of the film digibook eg. so seeking approval on this art would be easier then most images.

the fact it took 2 weeks to get the wreck it ralph art approved and confirmed, shows this technique can help a change get done.

so don't be so negative :naughty:

I'd go for that!

While that back art does looks much better in terms of blending with the front, I'd rather this have different artwork to the Viva... I'm not really a fan of owning editions with the same artwork on them.

I'd vote for this!

Loving the proposed back art....

Unfortunately every time I see the front I'm hating it more and more. That frigging HORSE NEEDS TO GO! It should be her on her own. That horse is slowly making me want to cancel, gloss or no gloss. :( I've waited a LONG time for this release and Zavvi/Disney are ruining it for me.

Personally I won't be happy till there's a steelbook with this as the front!
