It is progress. I can't wait to get my hands on Bambi and Cinderella now :)

It's progress in terms of glossing and slip but they must have forgotten about the back design and were like "crap we havent designed a back...quick guys google brave pics!"

Even Fantasia, as ugly as the back is with that crappy photoshop job, tried matching the colour of the front and wasnt just plain silver.

Ill just make sure to never look at the back when handling this steelbook to watch the movie n such :hilarious:

Ah nice. Looks like a worthy steelbook due to the gloss. And embossed title looks great too. Glad that rough patch of matte disnesy is over.

Same here, I only got brave, plus the hobbit from amazon. Both look really good. I do prefer not to have the frame around the case though.

Back cover is a D- and a real shame.

But the full gloss looks pretty rich and the inside is nice. Also that might be one if the best looking embossed titles I've seen in a while.

I didn't get the other 2 Disney steels today either.
It feels really good to have another Disney steelbook with gloss again. It would have been even better if the back went with the front, but i'm still happy with it. I really like the effect on the eyes. The back is a silver. Spine is black. Movie rewards were included.

Haha. We're given a glossy Pixar title, the first since FN, and everyones' complaining about the back!

It's progress guys!

artwork will ALWAYS be the most important factor when it comes to special 'collectors' editions of films be it digipacks, digibooks or steelbooks. so finish cant help terrible art choices.

as far as i'm concerned we'll only have seen progress when steelbooks consistently use excellent art. and by my count its over a years worth of bad art choices. so we're getting the wrong kind of consistency.

I'll never stop collecting steelbooks. but over the past year or so i've purchased only a select few (as opposed to buying 90%+ of them in the past)

I think this steelbook backs me up perfectly. the front and inside are beautiful, a beauty enhanced by a great finish. however the back KILLS IT. and no gloss finish can help it. and as with 90% of the steelbooks of the past year i'll never buy it. cause its not good enough.

lets face it consistent art from front to back with a dull matte finish would be better than this glossy mess. we need to get our priorities right, worry about the art first, the finish can come later.

artwork preferencies are quite a matter of subjectivity, some will like an artwork, some others will hate it etc, to everyone its own taste..

at least the type of finish(glossy) is better now :)
