Agreed.

This one looks nice, but doesn't compare to the Viva one.

I mentioned that in my video. I checked my other glossed steels and they don't have glossed spines. So it is indeed a first. Which makes me think they had a matte finish, and then went back and glossed the lot.

There are a lot that have glossed spines, Jack Reacher, Kick ass, Watchmen and quite a few others. This isn't a first although it may be for Disney releases. Anyway the steelbook looks good, the back doesn't really fit but overall it's a nice looking Steel.

I have never noticed glossy spines before, most Steelbooks seem to have the same 'flat' finish on the spine in my experience.

Jack reacher defo has a glossy spine and in pretty sure I have a few more. I'll have to check

My Spine slash is in exactly the same place. Looks like our steels were 'box buddies'

Received mine today also. Unfortunately there is a very faint slash on the front running from the horses mouth to the middle of the steelbook. I did think about trying to get a replacement but I'm sure it'll be sold out again soon. And I would much rather keep a copy as is than have no copy. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

I found this waiting for me when I got home today.

I very pleased with the gloss finish and the metallics in Merida's eyes.
The matching slip and embossing is also great.
Coupled with the 3D disc, this feels like a steelbook release should: a collectors item!

What are you gonna do? Try for a return and replace? I've reported it to them with a pic and am awaiting returns authorisation. But now I'm getting worried because people are hinting it will sell out again and I'll be out of luck like I was when my Lady & Tramp arrived with a side profile that looked like a boomerang (they were already sold out so I had to get refund and buy elsewhere).

I thought Zavvi only offered refunds on damaged items now? It might be worth ordering another copy now because by the time Zavvi have processed your return it will probably be long gone.
