Very impressed with France in the 1 and a half games they have played so far.
Aggressive, attacking play. Along with Holland and Germany, they have been the teams to be feared!

And I like this Guy's attitude

Irish publican bans cheering against England

lol all that guy is worried about is his trade dropping :p i don't blame him either!
he would be encouraging it if he was still in ireland! :D

Steven gerrard will have great summer knowing his mistakes lost liverpool the title and got England Knocked out of the World cup!:hilarious::hilarious:

:oohyeah: That sure was an interesting game!

The playoff games against Ukraine last November really did change everything, with that 2-0 loss in Kiev that could only be redeemed by a big win at home 5 days later otherwise we wouldn't go to the World Cup, and we did it (3-0), and everyone went crazy because of that incredible scenario, and ever since then the team has been on a roll, both the players amongst themselves and with the public.

These have been two great wins (8 goals scored) against Honduras and Switzerland, and especially the latter, last night. No one could expect to score 5 goals against Switzerland, usually they're a decent team (only one loss over the past two years). We even had the luxury of missing a penalty kick :p.

BTW, the referee is a bit of a buzzkill for ending the game right in the middle of a play (you either stop the game before or you let the play run its course!) when Sissoko was passing the ball to Benzema, who went on to score yet another great goal, well now it doesn't count , we've "only" scored 5 goals :D.

Now that's 2 goals Benzema isn't credited for (on Sunday the Hondurian goalkeeper helped, but Benzema really did 90% of the work), if it were up to me (or football lovers in general) he would've been credited for 5 goals over the two games, not 3 - which is great in itself, and it's not like it would've changed either game :).

We really have a great team this year, and with a great coach like Deschamps, who knows how far they'll go in the competition (if everything goes right, there could be a quarter final against Germany, that'd be a tough one to crack, but we're not there yet, Ecuador won its game so we're not officially in the round of 16 just yet, though with 6 points and +6 after 2 games it's looking promising).

The first goal of the night was the 100th goal of France in World Cups btw, it's the fifth team to achieve this, and third in terms on how many games were needed to reach the threshold : 56 games, more than Brazil (36) or Germany (41) but less than the other two in the 100 club, Argentina (57) and Italy (63).

Looking forward to Germany-Ghana / USA-Portugal now! This World Cup is definitely much better than the previous one : so many goals, so many surprises, so many stakes, it's a real treat :).

This is the FIRST year I have not been able to view every Game due to work but seriously what the hell is going on this year with some teams. Im shocked at a few but nothing wrong with some new faces!

Gotta say in the 2 games they have played, Argentina have been rubbish!!! Messi is a shadow of the player he was.
France, Holland or Germany will win it this year.

Oh my god....

Iran earned atleast a draw.

Argentina was pure rubbish. I was rooting for Iran the whole way and that means Argentina doesn't have any charm to me anymore.

So far I'm having a blast this Worldcup. A lot of surprises, great goals and nice matches.

I'm just a bit disappointed in Spain, Argentina, Brazil, England and Italy.

What Heart Shown By the Iran Team, showed way more team spirit than Argentina
Should have had a penalty and at least a Draw! poor referee!

Argentina Defence is terrible, teams like Germany,Holland and France would tear them apart!

^yeah it's a shame they didn't get a point out of that game!

Agree with recent posts. Argentina made a substitution minute 92 and DeMaria walked in slow motion of the field. Not the performance i was expecting from Argentina...

Argentina was terrible, Iran played very good and didnt deserve to lose. As surprising as that seems.

Honestly this happens with Argentina every WC, refs are too afraid to call their games because of fear of the media onslaught. But that penalty he didnt call cost a good team today at least 1 point. Refereeing this tourney has been questionable.

This is an amazing 2nd half between Germany vs Ghana.
I'm still hoping for the Germans to at least draw or win the match.

2 - 2
