Look at the disc. You see a LIONSGATE logo to the left of the BLURAY DISC logo.

Try turning off your internet connection from the playstation. It happened to me on XMEN first class and by turning it off at the playstation seemed to correct the problem.


but if it's cross platform problem, then it's probably the discs.

I'm using a dedicated Panny BD 3D player. I've read a lot of PS3 users having same issues too. People even rewinding and getting error in exactly the same place.

It does look like an authoring issue.

That doesn't sound good . I have an older Panasonic player & a PS3 as well so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed atm.

Looks like everyone is having the same problem which I guess is good news as it means it's more likely to be rectified. I hope they do offer a replacement disc service as I would actually like to watch this film as well as stare at the case

Yep my one had the same issues as well, at first thought something wrong with my blu ray player, glad I'm not the only one with these issues.

I'm using my PS3 and have never had an issue before but I have read elsewhere that people have experienced the same issues using Samsung and others. I think this is the start of a pretty major issue with this release. Blooming typical eh!

Lionsgate better offer replacement discs as it appears they were made aware of the issue on their rental discs and promised to rectify it by the time the retail discs were issued. Evidently they haven't which is very poor service.

I have emailed them already to raise awareness.

I have just watched this film and loved it but I had playback issues - anyone else find the same?

On several occasions the sound went or the scene would freeze for a second which interrupted the film quite a bit. It got pretty frustrating during it. Anyone find this? It has never happened on my PS3 with any other film before.


Onto the film.
It was amazing! You can really see Joss Whedon's influence in the script and it revisits the ideas he has used in his shows like Buffy and Dollhouse. Also if you are a horror fan you should enjoy this as it makes several references to these types of films. The last 30 mins really changed and ramped it up. Loved the ending too. 8.5/10 for me.

Shame about the playback issues though.

Same problem here. I was really hoping it wasn`t just mine. Really didn`t think i need to be replacing my player just yet.
Anyway, has anybody made contact with HMV or even had a reply about what to do???

Was in hmv today looking at this and on the case opening section (top right hand part) there looked a small indent. I looked at 5 other copies in the store and they all had the same indent in the same place...

FYI I emailed Lionsgate last night and got two very prompt responses this morning. They're recalling all the discs and sending new ones out to customers ASAP. I just had to send along my order confirmation email and address.

Yeah I think most steelbooks have these marks, nothing to worry about. It's a shame that there are some faulty discs floating around, I still haven't received mine yet.
