Can anyone remake Star Wars?

Seeing the successful remake of Star Trek makes me wonder if the same can be done with SW. Would this be a good idea? Thoughts?

nothing's sacred anymore IMO. Anything can get a remake. I find it hard to believe that no one has tried to capitalize on a re-make of "it's a wonderful life" tho.

I think it could be remade and bad ass with today's tech ... however I dont see it ever seeing the light of day in the next 20 years cause Star Wars can just keep putting out other movies like these prequels ... which still arent as good as the originals

i have always wondered why this has never been done, but i know why George Lucas. Plus its like saying Godfather should be re-made, i hope this never happens.

I hope it never gets done as well but a few months back I heard a band cover Stairway to heaven so I guess anything goes. LOL
