I wouldn't worry particularly about that. Cruise has, time and again, proven himself to be a team player. But of course this stuff is all speculation anyway. I hope whoever gives the thumbs up or down is looking for the best art possible.I was mostly joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cruise's various promotional contracts require him to be dominantly featured on certain materials involving the film--particularly on film covers (e.g. his giant mug on the Jack Reacher steel). He/his agent/his lawyers probably wouldn't be too keen on him playing second fiddle to Blunt if Manta leaned heavily on her in their mockups (despite her featuring prominently in most of the best promotional artwork for the film).
If that is the case, it's a real shame, as I'd kill for a lenti of the image in the op.![]()
Yes, I think I read many years ago that Cruise is one of those that needs his face on merch per contract.I was mostly joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cruise's various promotional contracts require him to be dominantly featured on certain materials involving the film--particularly on film covers (e.g. his giant mug on the Jack Reacher steel). Thats sold out and I dont own....so would still be nice to have pretty lenti for this movie. There already is one. Nova's EOT Lenti is one of the best Lentis ever.
It's like a megadeep 3D diorama

It's kind of funny when people review something like EOT or Tropic Thunder and comment on Cruise being funny - forgetting that his breakout movie as an actor was A COMEDY.But i could see the lentis being diff ... expect promo pieces and/or 6 month lead time for new works, or shall we say "risky business"
Will be good when this finally get's going. In the meantime, I want a Dark Knight trilogy premium release please!

35mm film is 6K.a little surprising since Nolan hates digital and prefers film. But I think he is a smart enough dude that might as well oversee it yourself so you had a hand in it as opposed to it just getting ran through a scanner. ;p
35mm film is 8K.
Imax Film is 16K
Mastering in 4k has nothing to do with a preference of shooting material.
It means that mastering in the digital post process can come closest to the look of the film.
Remember: Digitally shot films are LOWER resolution than film.
I'll have to take a look at that interview.yeah im just still shook on the exchange he had with Michael Mann's (if i recall) cinematographer? ... its on the HEAT reunion bonus features of that definitive edition. Nolan moderates and they get in a little poking debate shortly and Mann's guy swears digital provides better viewing, colors etc. and im shook as im still not figuring if he was implying the digital is better for resolution etc. etc. and of course Nolan ain't having it. But anyhow I get ya as that's just mastering off the reference material to best they can on the 4k format medium to put on disc etc.
