Liked the concept of film, but didn't love the film. But, damnit, Emily....

I was just asking about this in La La Land thread, and there happens to be an update here
It's YumilyLiked the concept of film, but didn't love the film. But, damnit, Emily....

cheers.
after all, Tom could handle repeatedly dying...
Patience... (and crossed eyes fingers toes etc)It's still going to take a while, it seems. See their answer to a question posted in the comments to their large July Facebook update:

There already is one. Nova's EOT Lenti is one of the best Lentis ever.Patience... (and crossed eyes fingers toes etc)
then agian, I do have the HMV 3D Steelbook so its not like I'm without. Just would be nice for a lenti on this movie.

It's like a megadeep 3D diorama

Is yours still shrink-wrapped???Mine doesn't look anywhere near as good as that, it just sort of sidesteps as much as it rotates properly. I wonder if I have a flawed lenti for some reason?
Is yours still shrink-wrapped???
No, I tend to tear open my steelbooks like there's no Edge of Tomorrow. Also, I assumed they'd all be like that so I didn't kick up a fuss about it.

It's a fine lenti to be sure, but I've never liked the way the right side of Emily Blunt's face warps as it turns toward the viewer. It distorts and puffs up to look more like Rhona Mitra fresh out of dental surgery. There already is one. Nova's EOT Lenti is one of the best Lentis ever.

I always thought it was a byproduct of the lenti print itself, but it looks like it was rendered that way in the mockup as well.
As far as the Manta release is concerned, who else thinks Tom Cruise is the one behind the hold ups with the artwork approval?![]()

Ha! That is a shame about your lenti, though. Mine (and most others, it seems) mirrors the mockup rendering to a T. It almost sounds like you're describing the same effect that can be achieved by turning a lenti on its side to clearly view the individual layers (without the 3D effect). On mine she kinda just slides left and right, similar to the infamous zavvi Avengers lenti. I think I'm going to give birth to the term "ice skating" to describe this phenomenon.
ice skate
noun
1.
a boot having a steel blade fitted to the sole to enable the wearer to glide swiftly over ice
2.
the steel blade on such a boot or shoe
verb
3.
to glide swiftly over ice on ice skates
4.
a lenticular image slides left and right rather than correctly rotating about an axis

I was mostly joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cruise's various promotional contracts require him to be dominantly featured on certain materials involving the film--particularly on film covers (e.g. his giant mug on the Jack Reacher steelMaybe.
But that really doesn't explain the 'Blah' Jack Reacher covers.
). He/his agent/his lawyers probably wouldn't be too keen on him playing second fiddle to Blunt if Manta leaned heavily on her in their mockups (despite her featuring prominently in most of the best promotional artwork for the film).
