The film was not in 3d at the cinema, just 2d. I'm assuming it will just be a 2d disc. I went to see it at the local Imax, and I must say, did not deserve the thrashing it got. I found it really entertaining and really enjoyable. It was good to get back to stunts that were not put together by green screen! Look forward to see what blufans have up their sleeves.

Just watched this and agree completely, it was really enjoyable.

I thought it was very entertaining with some great stunt, special effects and comedy moments, I didn't think it dragged at all even at two and a half hours and I couldn't help but smile when the theme started up before the main train part :)

Looking forward to the blufans steel

Hey Kevin any news on this one buddy?:)

BE9 is listed as pending but no title is listed, if they decided to drop this for another title it wouldn't be a great loss imo, OK film but nothing special.

Judging by how popular "UP" is would be nice to see another Pixar film get the blufans treatment.:naughty:

Film was pretty awful.

Will not buy.

Although I love that you're a Tarantino fan, I will have to completely disagree with you on this.

It was a bit long, but from the perspective of Tonto's story, it was very effective. It was very nicely made and well-written for the most part. Some bits were too much (like certain jokes), but I thought this was a very good film from a filmmaking perspective. I think you were expecting something more along the lines of Django Unchained. When I went to see this, I knew it was going to be more along the lines of Dead Man, which it was to an extent.

Also, most of it would make more sense to an American audience given how grounded it is in the culture. The reason why most critics over here hated it however is because of it's subject matter. The film is very sympathetic towards Native Americans, whereas basically every Western that depicts them is against them. They are the bad guys- unintelligent and savage. But in this one, it's the White Man who is the antagonist (and for very realistic reasons given what happened during that time period in America, as well as the decades preceding it), and I guess that didn't sit well with these critics.

That, and the fact that The Lone Ranger (which was a big series in the 60s) was basically made sidekick (and given an origin story where he is less than courageous as opposed to his real "sidekick"). So old people didn't like that either. Personally, the title "The Lone Ranger" could apply to Tonto as equally as it applies to John Reid.

Crap or not this will be mine, it's a no-brainer: I'm a sucker for Blufans exclusives and to be honest with you I've only been collecting steels (especially imported Asian ones) to showcase their beauty & not to open and watch but hey that's just me :D

Blufans give us something special in steel/slip art-design and get these suckers converted in a sec lol

Lol I'm sorry, but what the hell...

First off it's my opinion, and of course you can disagree, but what's up with saying I'm a "Tarantino fan", what has that to do with anything? And that I expected Django Unchained? Seriously?

I had rather low expectations for this honestly, but I still ended up being disappointed. I thought it was an over-long mess, with silly and stupid scenes and I have to disagree with you on the writing. It was below average.

And for your information I love the Pirates of the Caribbean films, and I even liked the 4th one. But Lone Ranger just didn't do it for me. And no, I am not comparing it with PotC, but on it's own it's not even good in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this movie ;) is there something wrong with me :) but for real the biggest fail of rhis year is Pacific rim ( lack of story line, awful acting, ) I expect more then special effects. In lone ranger I will change actor ho play John Ried -no best choice

I really enjoyed the Lone Ranger. Great escapism cinema! Really look forward to see if Blufans will have a different steelbook to the ones doing the rounds at the moment. Fingers crossed.

In the OP of the Blufans Exclusives Steelbooks thread the listing for exclusive #9 now says "Pending" instead of saying "Lone Ranger". Anybody know if this release is now in doubt?

Currently Lone Ranger is out of the list since the men in charge of steelbook releases at blufans didn't know that this film turned out to be this crap; they are still discussing what movie should be BE9, but i think BE9 may not be released this year due to the large amount of releases in the next two months

If this is cancelled then that is awesome news. It was bothering me, having to get this one. I have set myself the goal of compiling a full set of 1-10. Not sure if I'll keep it going with every title after 10, but having the first 10 would be very satisfying.

If they want to go with another Disney title, Wall-E would be good.
