I went back to the various CA steelbook posts and found that indeed the Taiwan, HK and Czech versions have colored discs. The second disc in the Taiwanese steel is silver. But I believe the German and French steels are the only ones that come with 3 discs. Somehow my mind stitched some crazy memory together to expect 3 colored discs, one for each color on the flag - red, white and blue. Or maybe it was just a discussion thread?

As for how many times we see the art on the discs, well to me, the steels are a form of art and even though most don't open their steels, I do. So every time I watch the movie, I do see the discs. For example of disc art, check out the French version of the
3:10 to Yuma steelbook, the German edition of the
Halloween steel, and the recent French release of
Conan. They are simply gorgeous to look at. Maybe it is just me
