Any suggestions what to do and how to contact zavvi ? Thanks

Since each steelbook is shipped separately, it happens quite often that they are not received simultaneously. This happens even in the UK. I have had deliveries up to a week apart. No need for concern right now IMO.

Don't...you'd be better off with the digipak (30th Anniversary 'Ultimate Edition') or the Sony Special Editions 2-disc (all 3 cuts of the film, second disc of special features). I have the latter and it's great! Half the price of a steelbook too!

I have to agree. Although I am a Steelbook-fan, I'm even a bigger C.E.-fan and was dissapointed by the look of this Steelbook. As a fan I was hoping for something that would do more justice to this movie. I don't know what's wrong with the embossed border, but it feels wobbly and I think they missed a shot by using a matte finish. The load of tradditional Zavvi-scratches adds up to the dissapointment

Good news! Zavvi sent a new one out to me today without having to return the crushed copy which will save me some postage as I am pretty sure they would not have fully reimbursed me.

Email from Zavvi confirming refund being processed, yippee! Its a shame the pictures goufcustom posted make it looked more vibrant than it actually is.

I can confirm that it contains 3 versions of the movie. It is the first disc from the 2-disc 30th Anniversay set, but with different disc art.

However, mine has arrived DAMAGED! Nice big dent in the top left corner, with the front cover coming away from the plastic innards. Also, another dent along the top front! Will be returning to Zavvi...

Replacement arrived yesterday and was looking good until I removed the j-card and discovered a dent right in the centre of the back cover! There was no indication of this on the j-card itself, so it looks more like a manufacturing defect rather than damage caused in the warehouse or during shipping.

Question now is, do I accept this slightly less than perfect copy or return it to Zavvi again and hope for third time lucky? The dent is only noticeable to the touch or if viewed at a certain angle and light, so not sure how strongly I feel about it at the moment. Just wonder how many attempts it might take to get a mint copy?

BTW, both Aladdin & Finding Memo arrived mint first time - thank goodness!

Both of my copies arrived with the same defect. Makes me wonder how widespread the problem really is. Hopefully the replacements arrives in better shape.

Got this the other day and I feel compelled to chime in with my own disappointment, this one looks nowhere near as impressive as I'd imagined it would. The lack of clearly advertised features contributes significantly to that (thanks, Zavvi), but the low-res images and boring all-blue theme combined with the single disc make this a pretty lame release all the way around.

And I know it's being said more and more these days around these parts, but I'll say it again for the sake of the cause... enough with the embossing borders already. I'm so bored with that look (and feel), it's good here and there when appropriate, but not for every single freakin' release. I'll happily sacrifice embossing for subtler, more tasteful debossing, or a high gloss finish, or any other premium feature. Let's see some more variety already. We pay enough for these stupid things, it's the least they can do.

this is a picture i just made for them, as they wanted proof.

what do you mean by that as I have this steelbook and it is as described

Yes its not stand out gloss
but its there if you hold up to a good light source
its only some on the stars not all of them mostly on side edges and top edge
the gloss on the spaceship its there but very hard to see and only is a very small amount of gloss so I agree it does not stand out showing the gloss

I like this steelbook
but I think the inside artwork is poor
not having the extras disc is a loss and should have been included

Lot of customers not happy there was no extras disc but they did show that it was not included

I have seen a lot worse steelbooks released

As it is the steelbook
its not bad
I'm curious if lot of customer real issue with the steelbook is it the fact it did not contain the extras disc but they never said it was been released as a 2 disc

Received mine, I loved it. I have the U.S. digipack, BD double here in Brazil and a DVD version with three discs. Definitely like this movie very much.
