Hey HiDefNinja members!

I'm hosting a group buy for any of you people out there that are interested in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray Steelbook from Best Buy.

Release date: April 5, 2016
Pre-order cost is $29.99 (WOULD GUESS IT WILL DROP TO $24.99)
Sales tax of 5.5% per copy ($?? with taxes)

Due to the large amount of work for international group buys, including a few visits to the post office and packaging materials, the fee will be $4.00 per copy and $2 for each additional.

Paypal fees will be included in any invoice sent.

Only mint or near mint & new STEELBOOK copies will be passed on to members here.

Additionally - these steelbooks usually come wrapped with cardboard slipcovers. I'll do my best to inspect them, but I cannot see underneath the plastic. I will not open an item for you to inspect prior to shipping. I cannot return items that are opened to Target.

"OCD" disclaimer. MANY copies from Best Buy and the USA Scanavo factory may run into paint chips or things like that. If you are a collector that also expects a pristine and perfect steelbook, I do require that you alert me at the time of payment.

This includes any special requests!! With the volume that I PERSONALLY handle, I need to be aware of these special requests that you may have, PRIOR to shipping!

I will pack in the following manner - case will be bubble wrapped, in a heavier cardboard box.

Please note - with non-trackable shipping - you the buyer understand that I cannot verify it's delivery - as I leave the choice up to you, this is not my responsibility. Insurance can be purchased through a 3rd party if desired.

I will retain proof of shipping for each package.

All delivery times are ESTIMATES only. New quotes provided as necessary.

First Class International (Box) - with delivery confirm to most countries.

-delivery to most locations - 10 - 14 business days, but may take longer
France - $22.50 (can ship up to 3 for same price)
UK - $22.50 (can ship up to 3 for the same price)

Insurance against loss or damage is $1.30 more up to $100 worth of coverage and is included in every invoice.

(note that shipping for THREE copies cost $22.50 before insurance costs).

An unbelievable amount of money to pay I have to say for this steelbook.

So much so that it's actually put me off importing anymore in the future given the hike in prices.

Paid-I'd like an OCD copy please given the £45 amount I've just had to pay out.

I'm going to quote the message I just sent to you via PM. There should be no surprises considering the OP has all the costs clearly stated, including the new shipping in the spoiler tag. Been there as long as the GB has been open. I'm completely fair in my costs, IMO, in charging a very minimal fee for my help, most of which passes to this site, everything is shown in the invoice line by line - costs are the costs. I'm sure that Best Buy charging a premium with this release ($27.99 over the $19.99 cost over the amaray) as they have been with recent steelbook releases hasn't helped any.

The USPS raised the rates in January on the service that I have used for years from $14.40 to $22.50 for one steelbook. First Class International. This is the base service with tracking to some locations until it leaves the USA. The next step up is Priority Mail which costs around $39 with the increase. Express Mail shipping, I believe exceeds $50 for the same package.

You can verify postage rates all you'd like via www.usps.com - it's all there, just choose international shipping quotes and off you go. A typical 1 steelbook package from me weighs 12 oz.

What I have been recommending to members is that they can combine other items with their group buy request, if that's another group buy item or a special request, as I can ship up to 3x steelbooks for the same $22.50 price.

Now having said that, it's a huge amount of work on my end to coordinate so and so's special request to hold this item for another month or whatever, but I've taken that on to help lessen the sting of the postage cost.

I would like to restate that I was quite clear in the new costs in the OP of the group buy threads, and I believe I even posted a response or two to threads to remind members that these costs were much higher.

Unfortunately with over 150 members that I'm helping across 5 group buys, it is impossible to reach out to each person individually and have a discussion, which means I rely on folks to keep up to date with the GB threads, etc.

I acknowledge the effort, and I didn't want to be one of "those people", but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to express my disappointment in the total cost of this.

You are right that as the cost of the SB never went down its turned this into a very expensive purchase that I've had to paid for so I don't get blacklisted if I was to want a copy of another film.

It is what it is but if this is the way it's going to be for US Steelbooks now, then I might have to reassess whether importing is a viable option for me going forward.

First inspection complete, I'll have to return 25 copies to the store that arrived damaged beyond my standards (and some of them were dented beyond belief). I'll look the remaining ones over again either tonight or tomorrow and will begin shipping those that asked for Star Wars in the next day or two.

And yes, I still have enough copies for everyone.

Just to restate, those that asked for combined shipments across group buys, it will be a bit longer, as I need to package each of your orders up before providing a shipping quote.
