A big letdown folks:

Kevin confirmed that this release will NOT include the 3D disc. Apparently there has been some kind of problem with the distributor and the 3D won’t be released in China this year. Blufans has decided to go through with 2D only release with all the material already ordered/ready. Sad.

shame but its an easy pass for me at least

While I agree with you it's weird, the same thing could be said for the 4k disc (not specifically for this film, many other examples) when it's widely available elsewhere.

but I dont believe BF have ever included a 4K disc in release, whilst is common practice for their Disney releases to include 3D....hence this appearing to be more weird

Yes they did for warner releases: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Dunkirk...

Since they mainly release Disney Titles, reason why the UHDs are not frequent.

The steelbook is the attraction here. Absolutely gorgeous. I’ve got the Korea 3D steel (had to get it after seeing @moon pics), but the FNC steel is not in the same league by the looks.

I am not sure I understand correctly.

What I meant was, the 3D Disk is supposed to be released in China by now.
Yet, Disney China stated that they will release the 3D Disk in 1 year time.
This is very unusual, I hope it's not gonna become a regular thing for upcoming Disney Releases.

The 3D Disk for COCO is already available in rest of Asian (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea...) also was released in European countries.
It is Not Normal that it's not available in China

i think disney china are playing games either this is a money thing where they want people to go out and buy the 3d seperatley or politics are at play either way its not good.

so my point about them breaking a prior pattern by not including 3D this time, is still more unheard of than not adding a 4k disc - 4k is still a niche product by comparison

personally feel that single disc 'premium' steelbooks arent very premium. Having multiple formats is all part of the package for me.

plus, how much extra production cost is there for adding an extra disc...
