I can't believe there isn't a thread in here strictly for Beer. Well now there is.

So I'm going to Phoenix and this store is about 3 miles from the house I am renting. I need some recommendations of beer they sell. I'm looking for Hoppy beers please. I've had a few of them they sell but not allot. HELP ME OUT!

No pic, but recently had New Belgium's Snow Day and 1554 ... I prefer 1554 , but both were good.

I had Snow Day today, and it was ok. I chased it with a Ranger IPA, and them picked up some 2011 BCBS. I still can't believe that the local distributor found a few stores in his new territory that still had 2007 BCBS that they were going to just drain pour. He's a very busy man today and it's beeing sold and raffled off all over St. Louis today.

december first was launch day for new beers that only come a selected few of the swedish state monopoly store called systembolaget, some may complain about the tax on spirits but the got an great selection.

Had my friend buy me some shorts Growlers last weekend and he brought them over last night. Two Bourbon Wizards and a Bourbon Huma!

i picked up 3 bottles of it a bit ago and had one of the three. it was very good, it was a big belgium beer. lots of spices and flavors in it, will be interesting to see how it ages

just got back from our michigan trip! in k-zoo we went to bells friday night and drank some brews at their eccentric cafe. i had a pint of the oracle, then got a sampler of christmas ale, smoked stout, sweet potato stout, spiced stout, rye-ghteous ale, and kalamazoo stout. LOVED the christmas ale and the spiced stout there.

saturday we drove to grand rapids, which seemed like a really cool city. we went to brewery vivant for lunch and a tour, then founders then hopcat, which was amazing! we watched the UW vs MSU game at the bar and were obnoxious badger fans there i got a message from one of the bar managers on BA friday saying he held me a pour of Nemesis '10 and put it in a growler behind the bar with my BA name on it. it was absolutely fantastic! other than that, i had the livery kentucky kaffinator '08, mikkeller black hole BA white wine and jolly pumpkin noel de calabaza

came away with some goodies which ill post below. all in all it was a great trip, we all had a blast!

a side note looked at mikker webshop you can buy gift certificates for their bar that one can give away. might have visit that bar next time I´m over the bridge

was really hoping to try the bourbon wizard and huma yesterday at hopcat but they were out. my friend had some of their chocolate wheat and i got to try it, was very good. looking forward to trying the regular huma i picked up!

yah, i feel pretty lucky! i got a tip from someone on BA also from milwaukee saying they were at a specific store but you had to ask for them. there are two of them in the area that are spread out by about 30 minutes. i drove to both of them to pick all that up, took about an hour and a half.

i have my name on the list at another place as well yet. the beer specialist said he'd hold me a bottle, so i think ill trade one of these off. put up a post on BA in the ISO:FT thread and got a response like 30 seconds later, lol

I'm really liking that one on far right, esp for the price. I believe it was $3.xx or $2.79. Tasty!!

Collaborations are usually really good. I was trying to track down some of the Bruery/Cigar City ISO:FT, but then I took an arrow to the knee. I've heard from some friends that it was amazing.

I actually had a bottle and brought it to a tasting during the summer it was a big disappointment. As soon as some of my friends tried it they immediately took it off of their wants

On a side note this weekend Dark Horse is having their 4 Elf Party. They are releasing Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th again!!! Last your their were only 38 bottles (750ml) total. This year their will be 288 cases (12oz) with a 2 case limit!!!. Cases are $130 and I am tempted to buy the limit unless they are releasing a bunch of other goodies we will see.

Interesting. Now I've heard some good and bad on the ISO:FT. The BB Plead the 5th sounds really good though.
