I can't believe there isn't a thread in here strictly for Beer. Well now there is.

So I'm going to Phoenix and this store is about 3 miles from the house I am renting. I need some recommendations of beer they sell. I'm looking for Hoppy beers please. I've had a few of them they sell but not allot. HELP ME OUT!

Thanks

BoB

yup! thats the bittersweet part of new glarus, they brew lots of amazing brews so you get great variety, but they don't brew them that often, usually just once every two years for their thumbprint series. so if you fall in love with one (like i did with their IIPA!), you gotta wait over a year to get it again :(

and it was very good! much more cherry than stout tho

I'm fine with once a year, but once every two years? That sucks.

As promised, here is a pick of all the goodies Splax sent me. Really looking forward to trying them.

I know how that feels. Been super busy as well. I've at least been able to have a good beer every once and a while. I've got a ton going on with work, and by the time I get home, I'm crazy tired.

90 minute is on my must try list. DFH use to distribute to WI, then they pulled, but now there's rumor they will come back!!

Hop Head Red is so good. We finally started getting Green Flash this past year and I've yet to have one that I didn't like.

90 Minute is really good too. I got one in my first beer trade. I traded two Founder's KBS for a 90 Min and two Palo Santo Marron.

That's awesome to hear... cause I accidentally picked up two of them, and its the one I've heard the least about. Just grabbed it on a whim (twice, apparently). :)

HHR is really good, but I think their West Coast IPA is even better. So far those have been my top two from Green Flash. I've also tried their Imperial Stout and a few others.

Unibroue Ephemere:

All were very, very good.

The Sierra Nevada was a little sweet, VERY carbonated. It wasn't quite great, but I had fun with it.

The Stone Vertical Epic was very cool. Brewed with Chilis and Cinnamon... the chili flavor is really pronounced, but not overboard. Definitely was fun to try... and definitely would like to have it again.

Unibroue is a really cool brewery apparently --- So far I've really dug their Tres Pistoles, Don De Dieu, and now the Ephemere was really good too. This latest one is brewed with apples, though the apple taste is really, really subtle... I probably would have missed the apple-ness if I hadn't seen the bottle/label. Really, its a belgian white style ale that is very light, crisp, with a little tartness from the green apples, and very refreshing. I bet this will be pretty amazing in the middle of summer while I'm cooling off in the pool. :)

I missed out on the KBS this year, but I'm not too upset about it. Instead of picking it up, I grabbed a few others and still stayed under the $20 for the 4-pack.
