Custom SteelBooks Designs - Post Your Own Concept Art!

I have a question... My images are all-set and ready to go, and I guess I just need to be the blank steel book cases - However, from what I've seen a lot of people have somehow applied their images to case itself, the exact same way the professionals do it... So, here's my question, how do I do that, exactly?...

Welcome @abw2!

If you download the templates in the original post, there are instructions and photoshop actions included. You install the actions (are you familiar with actions??) and they do all the work. It takes a little practice but you'll soon be on your way!

I'm not, but I'll see if I can figure things out, thanks... :wtf:; :cool:/P :)

YouTube is your friend when it comes to Photoshop tutorials. :D YT has a tutorial on just about everything pertaining to Photoshop. :scat:

Oh, alright, I'll check that out, thanks... :cool:/P :)

I hope this question makes sense to someone, but if I have an empty G2 steel book case that already has imagery on it, both inside and out, can I, still, customize the case in question...?... :wtf:

Also, I checked YouTube, as suggested, but I all I found was how to customize the inside of a steelbook case... Maybe I'm searching for what I want using the wrong words in the google search-engine, or something, I don't know... :wtf:

Your only creating a mockup of a possible steelbook. Think of a movie that you like and either go out on the net and find artwork for it or create something special from scratch, your own design. Try using the templates in the OP, they'll make it a lot easier for you to create something.

As for searching for tutorials, I had actually meant look for a tutorial on a specific function that you want to do within Photoshop. For instance if you want to create a DOF (Depth of Field) on your photo even if you don't have a camera that can produce it naturally use a search criteria like this, 'dof in photoshop cs6' and it will find a whole bunch of tutorials on how to create a DOF for your photo.

Think of what you want to create and then set out to do it. You'd be amazed at what you can create once you set your mind in motion. ;)

It sounds like you actually want to make your own physical case than a mock up? I did one before (technically a stickerbook) its in the modifying thread here :)
All I did was spray paint the case then stuck the artwork on :)

Last Resort, Awake, The Chicago Code

It's been a while since I've posted in this thread. I love all the stuff everyone is coming up with on here! I had an idea for a few concepts that I wanted to do... The "theme" for these are:

My favorite canceled tv shows (from the past few years).

I know the chances of them getting the steelbook treatment is slim to none... Even getting released on Blu-Ray seems like a long shot! (makes me sad)

[BTW, if you haven't watched any of these. Look them up, they are all Fantastic 1 season shows the have a "satisfying conclusion".]

Yes, I've, actually, seen this, particular, piece-of-work you did... Pretty good, but no, not, really, what I was looking for... I'll keep searching, though... Thanks everyone... :cool:/P :)

Last Resort and Awake are 2 of my recently cancelled fav TV shows too! Great work on the artwork, would buy them instantly but like you said I'm sure they will never happen :(

We need more TV show steels

It looks pretty professionally good... So, what kind of material did you use for the artwork, exactly?... Also, where did you get the spray paint, amazon.com?...

I was just browsing through the showcase thread and may I say: Your work is incredible! Your custom steelbooks look so so so great! Awesome work! You created such beautiful steelbooks, it's a shame they're not for sale. They are so beautiful.

Does anyone know how to apply customized artwork directly to the steelbook itself, by chance?... And I don't mean sticker book, I mean directly to the, actual, metal... :wtf:

[/SPOILER]

2nd for me Neil :scat:

Is this real or just a template... If it's the former, then, may I ask how you applied the imagery to steelbook itself, as opposed to just simply using stickers to do it?... Because you did a really awesome job..., and I just wanted to know how you do that, so that I could try and maybe do the same for myself, here, ya know?... :wtf:; :cool:/P :)

It's just a concept using the templates in the OP :)
I've seen you ask how to get the art directly on to a physical steel and I'm really not sure how to answer that I fear that the only way would be some seriously specialist printers or if your especially arty using an airbrush (I'm not hence the stickerbooks)
Sorry if this is no help but it's all I could think of :D
