Don't know if anyone noticed, but DHL have recently changed their administration fee charges...

Previously £1.25 is now increased to £5.00 for total duty and VAT amount below £250 (2% of duty + VAT amount if charge is above £250).

Hello! I may have a package heading to the US from Canada. To all US members, is there anything specific I should tell the seller to mark on the package? Or not indicate?

Also, does anybody know the 'cutoff' before getting hit by custom charges? heard the fees can be quite hefty.

The rules are for US to CANADA:
if declared as 'merchandise' has to be under $20CAD
If declared as 'GIFT' has to be under $60CAD
to avoid taxes/duties.

but usually for me if the parcel is under $80 no matter what it's declared at I don't get hit with taxes/duties.This only applies to CanadaPost/USPS.

The other couriers will charge you brokerage fees if it's over the merchandise/gift limits.


EDIT: I misread.
I don't think parcels going to the U.S get hit with duties/taxes unless the value is over $5,000
Never heard of anyone getting charged when the value was less than that.

Know about the thread, been there alot lately It's my first steelbook design, though not my first cover. Been making BD covers for some time now, but stopped a while back.

But felt It was now it's time for them to return in steel
