Custom SteelBooks Designs - Post Your Own Concept Art!

Anything over 15 pound thats not marked as a gift is liable to custom charges and royal mail handleing fees.

Yes, the customs charges themselves are bad enough - but kind of understandable (I've learned to live with them as I've been importing since the good old laserdisc days).

Royal Mail sticking on their 'handling fee' is completely laughable. I've recently been charged £8 handling by RM for 2x blurays, and £13 for 4x blurays, both shipments from the US. It's blatant profiteering, and makes the whole importing scenario that much more unpalatable.

Always get stung when shipped from USA via USPS, and probably 80% of the time when shipped from Canada via Canada Post.

My first custom steel (thanks everyone in the glossing thread too for hints)
Practice one before I do knights tale and Shaolin soccer :)

Been reading up on Steelbooks and how they're made etc out of sheer curiosity really, some stuff I can't seem to find out tho so hope it's alright to ask here (dunno where else to ask). When companies like blufans and kimchi make a custom artwork (and gottin it approved) where do they get the discs from? The studio? Do the discs get sent to Scanavo or is it upto blufans or kimchi themselves to put the discs inside the Steelbooks and then deal them?

This question should be directed to Wreck as he's pretty knowledgeable with Scanavo and how they do things. Repost your question in the 'Ask Wreck Steelbook Questions' thread directly below this one. :)

If someone could do any one of these that would be amazing: The Hurricane, Training Day, Crimson Tide, Mystic River, It's a wonderful life, Moon, The Truman Show or Snatch. I reckon all of them could look really cool and i don't think they have even been made either.

Some great choices there that I hadn't considered... I might do one for The Hurricane and Snatch soon! ;)

Here's a few concepts I did for a couple of the ones you mentioned:

Wow noodles love that truman show and mystic river steelbook.
Thanks chaps! :)

The Truman Show is one of my most wanted steels too... not necessarily with the artwork I chose though (it's hard to find decent quality images for this film) - hopefully the studio themselves have lots of nice high-res images they could use. :D

Totally agree. Been trying to find some nice quality artwork, but it's hard for even popular films. There's a background I want for labyrinth but it's only on pay-for-download on moviestillsdb.com.

I'll find another way. :)
