If Hdn want to offer best support to members have the GB be shipped direct
Hdn still gets its fee and members don't have to paying extra shipping costs

A GB should never have any impact on Hdn members and all other customers ability to order direct

Kimchidvd have good website with decent server to handle high demand

When a GB takes up to many copies of a print run it only has one outcome annoyed customers trying to place an order direct and that leads to customer complaints to kimchidvd

And here lies one of the best reasons to join a group buy (even though in everyone's infinite wisdom who posted above about why they even exist they couldn't even find ONE reason). Pay a bit extra and don't worry about being around for it going live. Simple.

I don't consider that any kind of reason for a GB, which is why I didn't acknowledge it. I'm astounded that anyone is so lazy that they'd rather pay $10-$20 more for every release they buy just so they don't have to get out of bed for five minutes. Maybe you're rich enough for that, but many of us are not.

The argument for hdn holding the gb is that the site has running costs and this is a way of paying for them costs im guessing.

Are you wanting a gb or not....lol

So say someone works shifts and needs to get up at 4:30am to go to work, you think it's lazy that they don't want to get up in the middle of their sleep cycle(1am) to go online and buy a steelbook?

I've done that very thing myself, many times over, to place orders with Plain Archive and Kimchi at go-live time. It's not ideal, obviously, but I'd much rather do that than shell out significantly more money for all future Kimchi releases. But, since it was announced above that now there will be GBs here for every Kimchi release, it looks like I'll have no choice but to start paying $10 more for all their releases for no reason other than to avoid getting burned by GB-induced instant sell-outs on Kimchi's website. And that's not cool.

Regardless, we better drop the subject. I think @cooey is getting upset, which also isn't cool, because he's a good guy. And for the record, if it helps keep HDN running, then that is a valid reason for a group buy. I hadn't considered that angle before now.

Im grateful for the GB on this one, Normally i would buy direct but i missed out on the revenant as i was dropping my little one off before work. Also as its coming from a hub my understanding would be less chance of being hit with customs.

Not getting upset bud it's just the constant repetition of the same thing over and over.

Would I prefer it if Kimchi would ship direct from the GB? Of course! It would save me the hours of packing and shipping them out.

Nobody is forcing anyone to join the GB. If you don't like them, move on. No point moaning about them as they're not going to go anywhere.

HDN will also be hosting GBs for KimchiDVD products from now on so that's why there are two.
lol..next step will be my friend..i you want a copy you have to join a gb and use fees and donations ;) "just a feeling" ;)

I'm passing on this has nothing extra to make me interested in getting

I already have the steelbook itself

I'm waiting on Film Arena version as that will have lot better extra goodies than this

The extra goodies are nice but honestly I may look at them once when I first receive the Steelbook and that is it. The slip is the most important thing aside from the Steelbook, anything else is just a bonus really.

personally I like to know I have reserved my steel without running the pre order gauntlet and the extras we pay are puny and it helps keep HDN alive so thanks to all involved

Can I respectfully ask why in the GBs people are not restricted to only 1 per edition. There are people requesting 2 full slips+ 2 lentis+ 1click as well. This is not "helping ninjas". If there must be a GB then at the very least it should be restricted to only 1 copy of each version or just 1click. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Hey folks, we've had this circular discussion before.

GBs exist to help those who can't be online to place a pre-order and to help support the site you're all members of. Limitations (if any) are usually placed in coordination between the retailer and the host.

Whoever has an issue with GBs should take it up with the retailer. Let's get back to discussing the steelbook. Thanks.

The retailer may allow 2 of each copy but surely HDN can choose to restrict it to 1 copy of each.
