Think I'm still in shock that there will be a spine title on this. First time since Iron Man 3 is it?

Disney seem to finally get it after a long time of complaining from collectors, as even Moana is getting a titled spine.

Hopefully a sign of things to come and not just a flash in the pan ( Malificent and Into the Woods had titles!)

Hopefully but I doubt it, the only reason they leave the title off is due to the title language translations. For example Finding Dory didn't have it because France/Germany/Spain all had different titles but Into the Woods and Maleficent had the same translations except for Spain which Disney issued a separate release for. Overall it costs them too much so I suppose releasing different steels is false economy for them.

But wishful thinking.

I Suppose it depends if sales have declined. Plenty of recent releases are still available around Europe. It may be cheaper to produce but if they aren't selling well the savings will get lost.

Surely just having localised spines wouldn't cost too much in the grand scheme of things, especially when Disney Steelbooks are the most expensive releases generally.

. . . and the latest news, pending further confirmation, is that ALL future Disney European steelbook releases - animation. live action and Marvel - will have spine titles in the U.K.
English spine titles, however, are not confirmed for other territories in Europe . . . would be strange though if the original English spine titles were not on all releases (IMO) considering the same steelbooks are manufactured in the same factory (Scanavo, Denmark).
As we know the latest Disney steelbooks DOCTOR STRANGE, MOANA and ROGUE ONE have confirmed spine titles in the U.K. and just waiting to see if our friends on the Continent get the exact same spine titled steels as we're getting (would be amusing if premium retailers in Europe only have Disney title-less spines in their packages . . . lol).

I'm guessing they won't have the same spine title as often they use different titles for their movies across the continent.

What I'm referring to is not various translations of the same title on a Disney steelbook . . . and taking the CINDERELLA 2015 WWA steelbook as an example I wouldn't expect to see CINICIENTA on the spine of the Spanish language steelbook, CINDERELA on the Portugese spine, CENERENTOLA on the Italian spine, CENDRILLON on the French spine, ASKUNGEN on the Swedish spine. . . and so on and so forth . . . and although each title may be present on the flyer/j-card I wouldn't expect to see these foreign language titles actually printed on the Disney steelbook spines.
What I refer to is a title in English for an English language Disney film sold in an English speaking country and no title, not even in English, for the other territories of Europe.
If this report is to be believed, and the English language titled spines continue to be manufactured by Scanavo, Europe, then there would have to be a certain number set aside for the U.K. with English titles out of the total print run . . . OR maybe Scanavo, N. America can be persuaded to share their Disney English language steelbook spines with the U.K. It could maybe make sense for them to provide their European operation with 3,000 English language titled spines - or however many is required - for each Disney steelbook titles and leave Scanavo, Europe to do all of the WWAs sans titles for all the non-English speaking countries.

I know what you mean, how ever I was referring to say Captain America Civil War, which was titled The First Avenger: civil War in Germany, so I just meant they couldn't put the spine title on them all as some, as mentioned, don't even share the same title.

Personally I would think we would get the same steelbook as the rest of Europe with just the spine that differs. ( without front title as the USA get)

I wonder if Zavvi have specially requested this.

if true, fine.

so long as they keep the titles OFF the front.

titles on the spine are fine
