Disagree... I prefer when there is a title on the front. The most beautiful steelbooks for me are the glossy Disney with title, like Tangled or Tarzan, or the Blufans Guardians of the Galaxy.

For definite. It really depends on the Artwork but I can't think of many where it works without, other than Civil War. Although the Mock up for Dr Strange could work without I think. Can't see it staying the same though as they never do.

Many work better, such as both WWA Avengers movies (just the simple A logo - stunning), Guardians WWA tape cassette would be ruined with a title. In fact most WWA Marvel movies are better with JUST the artwork on the front.

Disney's Aladdin, stunning as it was, would be better with just the image, and no title. Same with many other WWA Disney's such as Frozen and Inside Out - would be tacky as the rest with a title on the front.

But yes, it can depend on artwork - The Little Mermaid for example. Would have preferred the simply sillouette image but thats one where it kinda works.

Titles on the spine no only make sense, but are kinda needed, so I welcome that change, just so long as front titles are on J-cards if at all.

Can't agree with that. Aladdin looks amazing with the title. I agree with some marvel, however The Winter Soldier and the Dark world all look much better with titles on, as does Finding Dory.

^ Thanks for the lesson on "hearsay" . . . amazing how much one can learn from such knowledgeable members as yourself and the others like you
Think I'll stick to Judges Judy and Rinder for court etiquette though.
Anyway, keep up the good work . . . it's much appreciated  although, that being said, I find it unfortunate that you've hijacked one on the favourite characters from my childhood :(

As the judge said to me when I went up against the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police in the Crown Court "You leave this court without a stain on your character" . . . I trust that when I leave HDN the same will be said although I doubt it somehow (LOL)

strongly disagree - all look better without.

Only exception is UK Wolf of Wall Street where the front IS the title.

Front artwork finally confirmed today for the France steelbook (the FNAC edition) but no mention if this will be an exclusive design to them to sell or if we will all be getting that eye catching design or if it will indeed be the TBC artwork in the OP (which I've always thought could make for a stunning lenticular).
Liking this new artwork for its tremendous embossing possibilities . . . on a greater level to that on the recent WARCRAFT steelbook for example.

. . . and it would be the icing on the cake if there's an114 page booklet included inside our steelbook too.

Will be interesting next year to see if the recent reportage is true . . . i.e. that only the Disney steelbooks for the U.K. will end up with English titles (steelbooks manufactured by Scanavo, Europe for European territories).
What will be on other European steelbook spines? English titles? no titles with thunmbnails? or even titles in all the native European languages where the steelbooks are to be sold?
We shall see . . .

Hmmm, so it looks like that will be the WWA steel!
I don't mind it but I do prefer the placeholder art. Has to be gloss to look any good

I'll say this though

Blufans please save us

That's a lot more in keeping with cassette tapes and solid state drives ;)

I like it though especially if they make use of the obvious embossing/debossing opportunities :)

Perfect artwork IMO

^ BACK ARTWORK: I'd hope for one of these three from PAUL SHIPPER - the man of the moment - the man already responsible for the front artwork on two upcoming steelbooks - PIRANHA and SUPER MARIO BROS. - so a hat-trick would be ace.
Any one of his three poster designs for DOCTOR STRANGE would sit well on the back and would look homogenous with the front with some of the same colouring:-

Jesus Christ the front artwork always looks worse then the standard blu ray/DVD cover

God damn it.

I want characters on the front, not objects

Blu fans it is
