This will never stop as long as GBs exist..
There will always be people who missed out and complain.
There will always be people who abuse GBs to get multiple copies.
I've never seen this problem being discussed in a Plain Archive thread.

Again your not understanding

Yeah there will always be unhappy people. But I don't mean that

I'm on about a forum having to get extra copies for people and taking hours out their personal day

I'm not on about some will not get releases due to sell out. I'm on about the GB system allowing over double the people it should of let order

That's why I said to stop all this- if tou order direct then that way it's BFs issue and not wreck or cooeys

@Flloydo not getting confused at all mate. You are simply over complicating things

I'm actaully not

It's because I have about 3 or 4 ways they could do it is the reason you think I'm over complicating things

If you read my message it states on different ways it can be done. All you need to do is pick one and then it's a simple process. Simple

The GB's run fine.

There will always be the odd one or two that would be a 'bloodbath'.

It will happen sometimes. Doesn't mean we need to complicate GB's or make changes for the sake of it.

I have a dozen other methods that HDN can adopt the GB. Whether it will work or not is another question. Based on the fact these GB's run smoothly, IMO there is no need for changes.

Of course you think differently and you have explained yourself over and over. I will respectfully disagree as I said from the beginning. I will end our discussion with that. Feel free to respond but it won't change my opinion.

I agree GBs do run fine but this one didn't - and again I don't think BF will make this mistake again in honesty.

Well if you have suggestions then mention them because as Cooey mentioned they are looking into it. Your suggestion might be better than what they are thinking of

Again, it's for the sake of 76 orders going through instead of 26 (or whatever the numbers were) and stoping future headaches of what wreck and Cooey must of gone through

No matter what happens some people won't like the outcome they come up with just like people getting the ump over not getting on a GB or ordering direct because of a quick sell out

And it's not complicating a GB lol this didn't run smoothly did it. ( a pre GB is not a complication if it's a perk for a VIP status - if this even happens in the future)

I'm not trying to change your opinion. Just making suggestions.
I'm not going to be mad or cry if they keep everything the same, I'm quite happy with how it all works currently but if it helps the big guy for them to work out a different process then so be it

@Flloydo with all due respect, This is beyond ridiculous now, your posts are as long as ''Romance Novels'' when there is actually nothing to discuss since nothing needs to change. It has been said before, the new Group Buy system will need some tweeking as it moves along, but all of this is already being taken cared of.

In your proposal what would happen is the Premium VIP get first dibs. Then all those Premium members that couldnt get one have a second chance on the standard GB lol. So it goes back what I was saying, members that do not wish to participate as a Premium membership will be on the bottom of the list. Then you will get the arguments that members are not equally treated and given a fair chance.

That is what HDN is all about. Being fair and welcoming new members.

If you see the members that join the GB's most of them are NON Premium members. Look @lgans316 lol. He's been here for like 6 years and never will upgrade!

I can understand you wish to favour the Premium holders given the golden ticket first. IMO that would cause more of an uproar later down the line.

There will never be a willing formula. That is why I said the easiest solution should be first come first serve. Give a date and time, then it's fastest fingers on the buzzer until the site crashes lol.

I think if @lgans316 ever did upgrade I would refund him and not allow him premium because the no premium no avatar and being one of the highest contributing members here "look" definitely suits him. Lgans has become his own brand around here as his comments can make you either want to throw popcorn at him, or cheer for him and eat popcorn. :p I say this with endearment. ;)

As for premium it has perks , but they dont come as often except for just access to a private board and members helping each other more there and giving each other stuff. Each Ninja Week we do have private give-aways there as well so the odds of winning are much higher since a lot less people. We've also offered some Con exclusive leftovers first to the premium board etc. Most sites have their premium membership be a yearly recurring fee. Our premium has always just been a one time lifetime fee of like $25. Each Ninja Week some have been rewarded with that for free as a give-away as well. (so some never paid) I do find it a bit humorous tho when people say they cant afford it cause they are often people buying $60 movies month in and month out. You can afford it, you just dont want to. And there's nothing wrong with that.

We may look into a 3rd tier usergroup that has a yearly recurring , and we've looked into it before, but we've never put out that OPTIONAL sub level because in the past we didn't feel we had enough things of merit to offer that. Who knows what the future may hold.

The biggest elephant in the room to this entire discussion is the reason no one really mentions. Why do you think we have to have tripacks to begin with? The MOQ (min. order qty) is the reason they have to dress them up and try to make us all buy 3 of the same movie to begin with. The slips and boxsets look great, but i mean the reason why the mad rush is because of that issue really. There is a lot of risk involved for smaller Companies so whether they choose to do 2k or 4k that's really up to them for their own business reasons.

With physical media declining you'd think some of the MOQ stips would get in line with that. Would make much more sense for me to own a 1 click box set of Iron man 1,2,3 with all the fancy offerings then 3 Walter Mitty steels.

Lol okay then. It's beyond ridiculous is it, I really don't care if you think my last few posts have been long. I was trying to explain something and you don't need to read them. As for a romance novel that sounds like most your posts tbh

This wasn't me who started this chat about the GBs it was a mod and I gave my suggestion like many others did. Deal with it because there was clearly an issue with the GB the other day and the system failed causing others to put in extremely hard work to keep everyone involved happy.

And I can name much more that's beyond ridiculous

My comments at what the premium membership gives wasn't a dig by the way and I didn't mention the premium ninja week giveaways for other reasons

How many of us who have made every conscious effort to be online for a group buy live time on this site, whether it was new or old system, can honestly say they've missed out?

I've managed to join every group buy I've set out for on this site from FAC Elektra which was limited to 300 I believe all the way up to this Blufans Doctor Strange. The only one I struggled with was Manta Lab Deadpool and I was lucky source that by other means.

The only people who tend to really complain are the ones who miss out for whatever reason. I know with every group buy there is a chance I won't make it to the finish line in time, I've been lucky in 99% of cases. Even if I wasn't, I'm not gonna start raising hell over it. There's always more than one way to skin a cat. These days there's groupbuys on here, the other site.. There's even another site that started last year that does them. Groupbuys on Facebook. If you know the right people there is always that option too and then of course there is the website preorder for most releases. Like I said yesterday, nowt needs to change here. That's it

what a can of worms i opened the point was to disscuss it. which at least it did, from what i can see the majority don't want a bean to change. which is fair enough.

The reason i brought it up there where a few i know that did not make the cut ( i had in my case)that had been here a long while with much activitity and some being premium members.

The idea was to improve a situtation for premium members with a perk for those that help the site and offer something back that was it.
what i said was never about others being more equal than others but i can see the view point as well.

but somethings throwing ideas up can help sometimes it doesn't. at least it caused a discussion.

@Wreck was there a glitch in the system that caused the 2gbs? and if so can it happen again?

many thanks

its all good basil ... we were all just throwing out ideas. I didnt really give an opinion as to which side I'm on as I just like to take it all in and let it all marinate ya know. No need for haste decisions.

Anyhow ... the one GB that got doubled is kinda like how sometimes you make a post and it'll double post ... essentially same thing happened. We could avoid it by making the GBs prior and leaving unapproved then simply approving as opposed to actually posting.

that sounds like a good plan:thumbs:
may save you and cooey the grief you had to deal with and thank you to the both of you for helping everyone out with extra copies you did manage to sort out that helped out massively without a doubt

Hopefully Blufans will learn its lesson with this release and increase the print run for Beauty & the Beast, Guardians 2, and Rogue One. (It'd be really amazing if they got that website of theirs to work for them but that's a pipe dream I guess )

I think everybody on HDN did the best they could with what they were given. And, like has been said, this GB issue actually ended up benefitting more people than anything as more people were offered copies of the double lenti, etc.

As for myself, my double lenti copy was secured and I have my fast fingers and great internet (along with the foresight that this'd be a bloodbath due to the print run) to thank for that. While I agree with @matthewtheunicorn that this release was an absolute thrill and reminds me of my amiibo days, it'd be okay with me if the print run increased a bit, say 3k copies, just so more people have the chance to get a copy.

I'm new to the forum but I'm against premium HDN membership offering exclusive GBs. One of the things I love about this place is it's first come, first served, truly equal opportunity, and I've never agreed with the Blufans VIP system because, as someone said earlier (can't recall who sorry), I don't like the idea of: everybody is equal, but some people are more equal. I think it was @snow flake who said that sorry if I got it wrong.

Just my two cents :cigar:

Got to remember that HDN is not the primary site for BF releases. On the Other forum Kevin hosts the main GBs for BF releases and anyone can join the GB there regardless.

I understand if people don't want to register for another site to get their releases but a lot of people there put in a lot of time and effort to UP (pun) their BF intake by doing so.

There is no guarantee there to get a spot on a GB. The VIP status is for those who have bought a certain amount over the years and this system is going to be revamped into a tier system shortly.

If you have a lot of BF releases you can take advantage of getting releases there by asking for VIP status and securing a copy else take the chance on GB day which still normally has more copies than here.

The VIP system here proposed is like the class system to me.
