What does anyone here think about the exciting news that the new series of Dr Who is starting in August, rather than waiting for the Autumn? I'm not sure that it's such a good idea. They tried this before in the 80's I think and it was a disaster - people would rather be out in the (ahem) sunshine that stuck at home watching the telly. What do you think?

Anyone catch this fall season of Doctor Who?

I kind of expected a bit more with the weeping angels and the final Ponds episode, but all-in-all, not too bad.

yep, I thought the last episode was excellent! Matt Smith is doing a great job as the Doctor, becoming one of my favourites!

Yeah, I like Matt Smith a lot. He's slowly starting to show his dark side, the way David Tennant did during the series. I think it will come out more now in the next few episodes during the spring season.

I agree, just need a tad more dark side then he'll be spot on I think. The final episode on Saturday was done really well, classic Doctor Who I thought! Looking forward to the Christmas episode now!

damn final episode last Saturday...put a tear in an old man's eyes again! hehehe! well done, Doctor! the next companion is a cutie! the waitress in the Titanic mini-series...

...weeping angels and NY...best so far!

Yes, have to agree it was excellent. I really liked the connection with the early version of the show through the reference to the "Great Intelligence" and the fact that the memory worm was stored in a London Underground box. This links back to the 1967 2nd Doctor story about Yeti in the Underground tunnels that were under the control of the "GI". Can't wait for next year for the rest of this series. Steve Moffatt has said that fans of the earlier shows will not be disappointed for the 50th anniversary. Also loved this new puzzle about Clara now having appeared twice and dying each time at the end of the story - very intriguing!

The BBC has announced that the next 8 episodes of Doctor Who will begin on BBC One on Saturday, March 30 2013 and will premier the same day on BBC America in the US.

The 8 episodes will be followed by a special in November which is to celebrate the show's anniversary!

Also to be aired later this year is a new 50th anniversary drama biopic entitled "An Adventure in Space and Time" which focuses on the creation of Doctor Who in 1963 - the 90-minute special will air on BBC Two in late 2013.

Hopefully Who fans across the pond and down under will get to see it too!

All in all, a great year for us Who fans, :oohyeah:

I´m sure any serious Who fan would have great difficulty avoiding hearing who the new Doctor is. The onscreen reveal is nearly 5 months away! ;)

I think it´s great that they are now starting to make the new doctor older. Not that Chris, David and Matt weren't absolutely fantastic! Of course I'm old enough to have the 2nd Doctor (Patrick Troughton) as my favourite!!!!

I think he's a great choice, was hoping they'd pick someone older this time! :D

July 2011, World War Z began principal photography.
August 2013, announced the new Doctor.

Peter Capaldi who play a W.H.O Doctor in World War Z is now the Doctor.
Coincidence? Illuminati? Zombies? Obama? Aliens? Or the Doctor himself who did this.
