Black and white isn't just a lack of color. It is a style. As much an artistic choice as a lens or the music.
Some of the best B&W movies I wouldn't want in color at all. Manhattan, Schindler's List, Last Year at Marienbad, Young Frankenstein...heck, even The Mist is better in B&W. (The image is not simply draining the color out like turning it down on your tv. The grading and contrasting during the mastering process is completely different from color).

Schindler's List and some of the old Carry On movies made in the UK are the B/W movies I can watch. But even the old classics such as King King, The Fly, The Day the Earth Stood Still, I cannot appreciate the originals and would rather watch the remake. I know, call me unimaginable (n)

The Fly was in color. The sequel was in Black and White.;)
Oh, and you're unimaginable:D (seriously - you're missing out on amazing films if you shut out B&W. That's like me saying I would never see a film that was in mono. 7.1 or I'm not watching!).
Do you only watch 1/2 of The Wizard of Oz?!:wow::p What if you went color blind? Would you stop watching movies altogether?!

Some of the 80's/90's movies I have are still in mono 2.0! I do watch some selected B.W movies. Schindler's list and Carry on movies, hah :p If I was blind I would listen to you rant on vocally instead of reading the forms

Of course you're joking so not taking your comment seriously about the artwork being a "bit too black & while" . . . for a film from 1931 ;)
Made me chuckle and was wondering if you'd have preferred something in the Pop Art style for this classic horror film.
Anyway, the inside has a nice splash of red and the colourful original poster artwork used as the back image of the steelbook looks gorgeous (IMO).
Also, a couple of the previous more recent DRACULA steelbooks haven't exactly been a riot of colours . . . even the so-called Pop Art one:-

RE: QUALITY OF SLIPCASES:-
It's difficult to show without taking photographic comparisons of the various slipcovers/slipcases and I'll try to source comparison slipcover/slipcase pics:-

Top: REGULAR AMARAY SLIP / Bottom: STEELBOOK SLIPCASE
View attachment 265883
Arrow and some other Amaray slipcases twice as thick as these steelbook slipcases.

As can be seen compared to a regular Amaray slipcover the slipcase for the steelbook is about twice as thick (the walls at least).
Compared to an Arrow or HMV "window" Amaray slipcase, for example, the walls of the steelbook slipcase is about half as thick.

Prince Of Darkness is a stunning gloss steel with beautiful art style finish. One of the best UK steels in recent memory. :)

Just use Parcel Motel like I do Paul. Problem solved

Works for HMV UK too.

Does Parcel Motel work for this site? I tried yesterday for ages & couldn't get it to work, I kept getting an error that my shipping address did not match my billing address. And when I tried to enter a different billing address it wouldn't accept any postcode I gave it (I used that stupid Eircode thing).

Just tell them that the billing address matches the delivery address even if it doesn't!

That's what I did and it works.

Yes, I'm a fan of most of the Dracula steelbooks released here as much as I'm a fan of most of the Dracula films - from NOSFERATU to LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and STAKE LAND.
The misunderstanding here, for that's what it was, was nothing to do with the steelbook but rather with the film - in other words, I misunderstood the member who commented that he didn't like the B&W . . . I thought he was referring to the steelbook hence my comment that most of the other Dracula steelbooks "haven't exactly been a riot of colour".
What I didn't realise was that the member was actually referring to the film itself and not to the steelbook - that in point of fact he didn't enjoy B&W films - and as this thread is for a film made in 1931 I didn't get the comment hence the misunderstanding :)

About time we had the full image for the steelbook front so here it is:-

That's risky if you use a billing address that's not the one your Credit /Debit card is listed as
It's fine to have a different delivery address can be anywhere but the bank can reject the transaction if billing address does not match what they have on their system recorded for that card they will reject a transaction eventually when the random security check is used depends on the type of card and security checks used on a retailer website

You get away with it only because security check on billing address not done but eventually they will

Hmv UK is different as you can enter your correct Irish billing address and then use parcel motel or An Post AddressPal as the delivery address which is a UK address

Zoom won't take a billing address if it's not a UK address and does not work even with An Post AddressPal UK Address if you try to enter that as your billing address

It might work at the moment with parcel motel as billing address but don't be surprised if eventually your debit/credit card gets rejected

Yes thank you Zoom, two very fine steelbooks with DRACULA probably edging it for me.
Eagle-eyed purchasers of these two steelbooks will notice a #1 on one and a #8 on the other - at the end of the long number on the lower section of the slipcase spines - and although I don't want to get my hopes up too high I'm hoping this will mean that the remaining six in the Universal Classic Monsters Collection of eight will follow in slipcases too.

I would be astonished if the others are not done. Those are 100 winners in my book and I can see a lot of orders from overseas. It helps that all 8 films are region free
