Because they only ship Express Mail. Gets to you in about 2-3 days tho
I don't mind waiting though
especially when it costs more to get it sooner!
Sometimes quicker shipping means less time in transit, and less chance to turn the Steel into a twizzler, lol. On a serious note I have never had trouble with Amazon JP thus far, looking forward to this!

OK after reading some comments I may take the plunge on this after I get back from my holiday (skiing in Verbier at the moment) using google chrome etc...i guess it'll be a good test on Asian steels as has been mentioned here...
Cannot justify spending £x amount on the cost of the steelbook and then postage ontop that matches the that amount I pay for the item itself.
UK charge VAT on it, and the shipping cost is massive.
I bought *** Batman Begins and TDK white steelbooks. Had no issue paying it for them being one of my favourite film series but they cost approx £30-40 I recall.... EACH! Then they do a UK release for £15.99, I may aswell have waited.
I am sure it will eventually come to UK, if not I wont be devastated as the film is good, but not amazing and due to low box office will probably never see a sequel. That was bad marketing though, in the UK, I assume its the same elsewhere this was 'Dredd 3D' and you could only see it in 3D. Myself I hate the fact I had to pay extra to see a tack on average 3D technology when you compare it to the Theme Parks in Florida... that is 3D, compared to the cinema its just an extra inch off the screen its basically pointless. I have no doubt had they released it 2D aswell, it would have made more money by bringing in a wider audience who like me do not like the technology of 3D in cinema.

I find that Japan brings us fantastics steelbooks at this moment. We have almost the impression that the motorcycle is relief on the reverse.

I don't how it works where you live, but the theaters around me all offer 2D showings of 3D movies. You may have no doubts if released in only 2D the film would have been a success, but unfortunately for you, the point you're attempting to make is 100% incorrect.
The film flopped globally because a few factors, the biggest of which being hard-R action movies simply don't have a foothold with mass audiences anymore. It was out of theaters so quickly word of mouth didn't have time to spread. That's why the movie has seen such great BD & DVD sales.

It's 100% correct. He doesn't say it would've been a 'success', he says it would've made more money if it had been released in 2D aswell which is true. As for 'how it works where you live' (i'll ignore the fact that it sounds really insulting), the vast majority of 3D films are shown in 2D and 3D but for some reason the studio refused to allow nearly every cinema in the UK to show it in 2D. No 3D (was a huge part of the movie as anyone who watched the extras knows) That sucks big time for me
Is this confirmed? If this doesn't contain the 3D-version, this version is missing out significantly. The 3D was awesome in this movie!

I don't really mind if it only contains the 2D version. Only have 2D at the moment at home anyway.
Agreed. I've also only got 2D at home. I'm not sold on 3D, and I'm old-skool; I prefer my movies 2D, 'cos that's the way it always was. Studios should not rely on gimmicks to sell their movies; they should focus on enhancing the storyline to deliver a great product that the fans will enjoy instead of giving me a crappy movie with 3D.
For interest's sake, I watched this in theaters in 2D. Did I enjoy the movie. Hell YES! Would I have enjoyed it more if I had watched it in 3D? No, I don't think so.
I hope that there are sequels in the future. I'd love to see the Judge Dredd comic book story, Judgement Day, brought to the big screen. Zombies are in vogue now, so strike while the iron's hot...
I've got the French tin set. I'd be getting this purely for the SB, which is great. Love the back cover and inside art.
I have the US amaray of this and as the film was filmed in native 3D found that the extra dimension really added to the film plus the use of depth of field and the slow motion effects are incrediable in 3D. Also when watching anything in 3D the size of your screen is important !! Meaning the bigger the better so that it fills your field of vision.
If you read all the reviews of the film they all state that the picture quality in 2D is way inferior to the quality in 3D as the entire film was conceived, with regards to depth of field and set layouts specifyly for the 3D cameras and to give the entire film a more involved and immersive feel when watching.
I love 3D when it is done correctly and totally enjoy the extra dimension it adds. Ridley Scott handled 3D increadably on Prometheus giving that depth of perception to the shots and making you feel so much more involved in the film.

I live in the UK and as someone has stated this was not released in 2D across the UK cinema.
Perhaps selected cinemas, maybe more down South, but Odeon and Cineworld, arguably the two biggest brand in cinema in the UK did not release this in 2D in my local branches.
My local Odeon is in the biggest shopping centre in Europe! AND still didn't show this in 2D. Bascially by doing that and adding £2-3 extra to see it in 3D, as I stated neutrals will opt to see another film rather than spend extra cash.
I agree it could have used more marketing to maybe draw more neutral crowds in to see the film, but especially in the UK the biggest negative was the 3D only brand.
