i thought print runs are in lots of 4000 or 8000?

forgot where i read that but is that fact?

Dudes! - there's something funny going on here. I can't see HMV selling out of 4000 copies (I'm not sure it was that popular and as far as I'm aware they aren't sharing a print run with any other country) so either there is less than that (stickerbook?!) or they have to be going in store. Perhaps...

My brain hurts!

I think loads of people ordered after the french version was announced as a stickerbook, and then again when futureshop announced the exclusive slipcover but no steel. I can easily believe that they split it 2000 each for retail and online , I think there will be quite a lot instore, for how long however is anyones guess.

No minimum run is 4000 then you can have any number above that. My guess this had the minimum 4000.

Which aint alot when its available to ship worldwide and a very popular film.

I think they will be in store i will checking first thing monday morning

Whilst I hope that people (from the forum) will be able to pick this up in store on release day it wouldn't surprise me at all if this had sold out online for its initial print run and is never seen in bricks and mortar HMVs.

Drive was:

  • a very popular film in the UK
  • a very large screen presence in both multiplexes and art-houses
  • heavily praised in critical circles
  • the steelbook was a mere pound more expensive than the Amaray
  • and at £12.99 it was a ridiculously reasonable price considering HMVs typical Steelbook pricing policy

But, like I say - I hope those that are without are proved wrong and are able to snatch it on Monday 30th and those that have pre-ordered it online don't get any damaged ones, since returns will be a ***** with this one...

hrm, I ordered only a couple of days before it was removed from the site. Here's hoping I don't receive a cancellation email or I will be paying through the nose to get a copy out here to Australia :(

If it's still showing in your account as pre-ordered then I can't see there being any problem. Fingers crossed.
