As a rule of thumb, it's always recommended to change passwords on any given site/email/forum/portal every couple of months (hacked or not) and never use the same password on more than one site. Tedious for some but as pointed out, better safe than sorry, besides there are plenty of tools that help manage passwords from 1Password to iCloud Keychain - to name only a few - which make that task a breeze...
