Does look decent though

Surely there’s spot gloss on all the characters (like with the endgame WWA) and the back symbol. Shame about the debossed title tho. Now looks out of place from this years WWA wave

Not really Black Widow didn't even have a title

Be interesting to see if the US get a full gloss version

Ive gotten mine.

Streaky matte with washed colors. A real disappointment.
Could have looked really good with spot finish and perhaps a debossed title, but it was completely botched. Easily the worst of the latest Marvel steels. I had my hopes up after Shang-Chi.
I mean, Black Widows artwork is bland af to me, but looked good because of the spot gloss. This has pretty good artwork imo, but looks way worse. Very apparent that the finish can make or break a steel. Same goes for Shang-Chi. Bad artwork, great finish and debossing = win.

:/

Oh f**k!! What on earth. Just why? Why after BW and Shang Chi?

They blow my mind sometimes. How disappointing

Think best buys will be full gloss?
Have to see, disney are so inconsistent. Last 2 MCU steels have been essentially the same spot gloss worldwide, as were jungle cruise and cruella. Soul, Raya & Luca were all glossy in the US vs matte UK. Encanto looks to be glossy worldwide.

Exactly why I stopped buying Marvel/Disney steels... their designs and finishes are all over the place. It's as if they rely on tossing a coin to decide whether they actually put any effort in or not. The sooner people stop buying and supporting this rubbish, the sooner they'll have no choice but to up their game, as they once did with the title-less spines.

the same reason why I stopped collecting them, just like the lenticulars from zavvi, very inconsistent, sometimes they are embossed, sometimes not, matt or glossy, titled or untitled... since i focus on premiums I'm happier and my OCD rest

Absolutely careless steelbook. As mentioned elsewhere, washed out colours and a horrible matte finish. Easily the worst MCU steelbook I own..

Not that I daresay it matters, but does anyone know what company produced these? They surely know they were creating a premium edition of a piece of media that only collectors are going to be interested in - it’s free to watch on Disney, and the amaray version is cheaper - so why do they feel they can take the p*** and release such a half hearted attempt?

Would be nice to be able to give feedback directly to them..

Having worked with them in this capacity in the past I can categorically say that they couldn’t give a rat £&@# about it, even less now with their drive for Disney +. To be honest I’m surprised they are even releasing physical media at the moment, I think it is more of a ‘have to’ than ‘want to’ and if it all goes their way then they will stop production first chance they get.

About the only thing this steel has going for it is the title on the front, so atleast it won't look out of place next to the rest of my titled MCU steels. Otherwise, it's absolute trash. Glad I've got the smlife slip, which looks great, shame it's content is :BS:. If the US bestbuy steel is glossy, I'll look to buy and replace it.

I'll be honest I am really disappointed in this one. And I usually have a high tolerance for what some people call bad. But this feels super low effort. Compared to the Black Widow and shang chi steels it is a joke. I know the art on those isn't anything spectacular, but at least the steels have nice accents, spot gloss. This is just meh. And to top it off, mine arrived damaged af. This in addition to having 2 Mondo Thor arrive damaged. Well I can't call the second one damaged, more folded in half... It amazes me how they haven't gotten the point yet, just ship them in a sodding box with those big air pouches surrounding it.

Yeah I think this is a p!sstake too. I know we are used to this finish thanks to the like of Warner completely cheaping out on us but Disney do know how to make a WWA. And the kick in the teeth comes because of how great BW and Shang chi looks. Literally months before. I just don’t understand them or their decision making. And it’s true we all no they don’t give a f**k so it’s loose loose for us

I’ll wait to see how the US version turns up and I’ll try my luck with a cheap one through the bay. Could take a while but I’m not spending over what the price of the U.K. one is to import it.
