Haven't been here long but is this system really fair to "all" people members.
just been to work less than probably 8 hours maybe bit more and 8 pages of GB orders on this
based on 20 posts per page if every one had ordered 2 copy s the GB would now be just about closed.
its probably not far away i would guess.
seems a lot of same people get tagged so get alert and come to thread which is okay but is it fair to all.
some people cannot get to computer others have access to computers at work ,shift work etc normal daily life.
alot of people cant just or dont want to be logging into site all time to check up if these group buys have opened
so a lot of people are going to miss out
depending on the number available 299 avaliable for this film is not a high number based on demand here looking on at these GB.

So wouldn't a site wide all members email announcing Film X GB has opened .
would be i thought be fair and obvious option + 1 Max per person with option of 2nd if not high demand after X amount of time

I have the mondo one on the way...but caved for this one. I just can't pass up a FA collection of this. Imo the mondo and this will be like two completely different steelbooks so that is good.

I'll be having whiplash, kingsman, exdous, T1 in one box and then wick angel, ex, T3, chappie in another...thank god for karl man.

If you all of a sudden get 50 emails in an hour, it's safe to assume that something is going down!

Just posted what i thought would be ideal and logical and fair for all way, for everyone who s a member here.
sending a site wide email is no different from sending one person one, just different click click/setting for the staff.

That isn't really possible. The staff have enough to do without having to send emails out for every GB. As you said a lot of Group Buys you wouldn't be interested in so a lot of people would be getting spammed with messages they don't want. The best way to not miss out on a GB is to subscribe to the thread. That way as soon as the group buy is announced you will know about it.

I mean, an email notification for new group buy threads is basically the same thing, isn't it? What's the difference if it's an auto notification or from a site staff member? Either way there's going to be an email with every group buy.

i had noticed a lot of people seem to miss or be too late for the GBs reading older and newer threads and are disappointed so thought if staff sent out a mail it would be fair for all and i guess no excuse if missed out
Difference is for me personally that group buys are not opened every day in general are they.
i dont want to come to the site for opening of group buys i don't want to or alerts that i am not interested in or have no meaning to me.
i am surmising a lot of the reason people come here is for the group buys + the joint interest in things ,banter etc
so that makes it a big deal and should be dealt with announced by staff response as said thats just my personal opinion
i have been staff and admin on online sites/forum sites and important announcements are always sitewide mail ,takes a few seconds and not a big deal.

Staff have replied to my post so all's well and respect there ways of doing things here and there time limitations as its not there job its there hobby
will take your,there helpful advice as should all if don't want to miss out or have a better chance not to miss out on snagging one

This GB is lasting longer than I thought it would, I was sure it would have been another fast selling in 2 or 3 hours like Whiplash, but no I am surprised
