I really liked the movie, but I can understand it's not for everyone. The steelbook looks like strong contender as steelbook of the year. I wouldn't expect to see this one one zavvi sale and I would recommend to pick this now if possible. This one will only rise in value.

As soon as this is back in stock i'll be grabbing a copy. It will definitely rise in value. It's got that premium look.

saw movie yesterday. liked it. but did not love (at least at first viewing) have ordered, but may end up selling it.

I like/love sad and 'different movies' but this left me with same sad emptyss as under the skin.

Does anyone can confirm that this artwork will be the same worldwide?
Should I cancel this one and go for Amazon?...

Why would you do that? Is it working out cheaper?

I'm pretty sure amazon is sold out of this also (as of now) anyway.

I'm deeply bored to receive damaged items from Zavvi and I have the german Amazon one pre-ordered too for 24€
I just want to be sure that they're both identical before cancelling the Zavvi one...

It seems unlikely anyone will be able to confirm that until near the German Steelbook release date, whenever that may be.

I'm pretty sure that will be a placeholder date for the German release. It is bound to change.

Amazon don't tend to provide a release date if they don't know what it is (they just say something along the lines of 'pre-order now to receive it on release').
Also the film wasn't even at Cinemas in Germany until 3 months after the UK, so I wouldn't expect the bluray to be out for at least 3 months after the UK either.

I can see it being after but 6 months after seems like a long time. When it says Late December I'm always skeptical as that's what they usually put for placeholders. We shall see!:)

Alone of Amazon's European sites, amazon.de always use the 30th or 31st December as a provisional release date where the exact date of a future release has yet to be confirmed. Same applies to their exclusive release of "Mad Max: Fury Road".

"Ex_Machina" is not an amazon.de exclusive. It's also listed on other German sites, all with identical artwork to the UK release, so it would appear to be the same artwork worldwide.

Yesterday, it briefly became available to order again from amazon.de for EUR 24 (adjusted for UK VAT), so I snapped up a copy. Works out at about £17.40 at the current exchange rate, so definitely cheaper than Zavvi, especially if you add other titles to take advantage of their flat rate shipping charges to the UK of EUR 4.

European Universal Steelbooks are always the same worldwide. (Think Jurassic Park, Oblivion, Wolf Of Wall Street etc....)

I'm struggling to think of any that wasn't identical.
