misaligned embossing. I think they need to do a time out at the Steelbook factory, because this happens too often nowadays.

Quick question. My embossing of the mcavoy image on the back is slightly off,say 3-4mm. Pretty noticeable.

Is this a common error?

A very small amount of copies of The Jungle Book Zavvi Exclusive Steelbook had the same off-embossing error that you mentioned. So, not common, but it does happen.

I contacted Zavvi about the embossing problem and they offered me a partial refund of £3. Result.

I emailed them a few days ago about the steelbook so they'll probably be fuming with me. I don't like that they don't allow returns for being unsatisfied with the steelbook. That's just not on, especially seeing as how I haven't even opened it yet and it feels flimsy!

I returned Thor because I was u happy with it - no argument from them! :-/

sorry but under the distance selling regs provided you havent opened it and can be resold but must still be sealed and that is the important bit, you can return for full refund they are not allowed by law to argue on that one.
you have 7 days once from recieved to inspect the item. also they the retailer must pay the return pay the return postage costs

read here

and i have done this on a few occasions with different retailers they try arguing cd,dvds exempt then you tell them to re-read and tell them it is sealed it still is in a new condition and therefore resellable, they then shut up and usually send out a label for you to post back most of them.

don't let them bulls***t you stick to your guns

Sent them a video clip instead. I know they're got important business to attend to and such instead of responding to replies from pedantic people like myself but would it take much for them to read a sentence explaining a non-visible fault?

Steelbooks are expensive, at least to me, and whilst I feel dumb about complaining about it, I don't see why anyone should pay a hefty price for something they're unsatisfied with and just suck it up just to please the retailer.

P.S. Sorry mods for bumping this thread, I'll shut up and now and forever hold my peace ;)

Don't see why they should offer any refund for it being flimsy, it has to be that way for all the embossing. It's not damaged

i was refering to being able return for refund with regard to sending back under dsr which is for any reason. thats purpose of it.

anyway back to the steel.

They just responded telling me to send pictures. How on earth is it possible to show flimsiness in pictures? :wtf:

I don't know why you would try and get a refund for that, it is the same for nearly every embossed Steelbook released in the last couple of years.

I know it's not damaged. But I'm not happy with it so was going to send it back, it's still sealed and untouched so they can re-sell it again. So I don't see why it's such a big deal. I emailed them letting them know I'd like to return it and they want me to provide pictures. It's turning into a cat and mouse game, which I didn't intend at all.

request they are confirming point blank refusing to take item back under dsr regulations?

if so mention you will go trading standards see what response you get back then.

the purpose of dsr regs is to allow for inspection in hand to see if its what you would want end of story if your not happy with it for whatever reason they have to take back under law. The only condition is you haven't opened which you haven't.
