I think it was probably more to do with the Steelbook itself than the film. It wasn't the greatest with printed logos and printed back.

Did something similar with Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, both disney release were awful prints - nice to see this is much better, hopefully aladdin will follow suit

Out of all the films coming out this is the one I'm looking forward to the most,

I think the embossing will really pop on this one :)

I seen that.

Zavvi have probably seen the junk released by entertainment store all selling out on Play.com, and figured they will charge 28 quid as well.

I hope not. I put ES's pricing down to the fact that they're new to the game and their releases are a lot more limited. Zavvi have no right to charge similar prices , even with Disney's fees that price is ridiculous if there is 4000 of them. It'd still probably sell out though. :hilarious:

Here's hoping the price drops. Jungle Book should make a fantastic steelbook either way.

Zavvi's initial pre order prices almost always drop. They had Avatar listed for £44 then it dropped to £14 or something like that. So dont worry about price right now. Jungle Book isnt released til September.

I'm very surprised that this has only just finally sold out! Is Finding Nemo not popular?

Roger Rabbit and Aladdin both sold out within hours (as I expect Little Mermaid and Jungle Book will do), yet this has lasted until now. It baffles me, as I thought that this would've disappeared weeks ago, especially as they announced a 4,000 print run on the listing page!

I must say, this is the first SteelBook I have been looking forward to getting since Roger Rabbit! I'm a big fan of the ones that feature embossing / debossing!

Personally, it's one of my least favourite Pixar/Disney films. Doesn't surprise me that it look longer to sell out.

Plus it had already been released in other markets with a 3D version included, I believe. By contrast, I think Zavvi's Aladdin may have been the first steelie release for that title.

It actually "sold out" a couple of weeks ago, but came back in stock at the same time star trek (white) did. Though it lasted a while this time as well. Definitely not a fast seller.

What's to prefer?

This is a steelbook and the embossing is way better.
embossing debossing is not great for everybody.. when i expose my "metals" i don't care if it is indeed a steelbook or a viva (bambi, brave incredibles etc), an iron pack(prince of persia, princess and the frog etc) etc

i rather the back artwork of the viva.

I don't care if this doesn't include a 3d disc, even though I have a 3d tv. I can always buy the 3d amaray amd put the disc in it. Same with Top Gun really.

Both of my pre-orders were cancelled! Anyone else have this happen to them? Oh, by the way, I never, "got in touch with them regarding this order", the email this was attached to was totally unrelated to my Nemo purchases. This company doesn't seem very competent at all. Think I may cancel my 3 other pre-orders (Independence Day, i, Robot, & Kill Bill) and just overpay on ebay.

One of our customer services advisors has reviewed your query and we are able to confirm the following:

Hello Terry,

Thank you for getting in touch for an update on your order.

I am really sorry to let you know that we have had to cancel your order for both Finding Nemo's because our suppliers were unable to provide it.

I understand how disappointing this might be. We have tried other suppliers but we have not had any luck. We will be removing the item from our website as soon as possible.

If a charge has been taken for the order, then a refund will be requested upon cancellation and the money returned to your account within 3-5 working days.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

John
