Not right . . . unless eBay have changed their rules recently.
As far as I'm aware you cannot list your item if it can't be delivered to the buyer within 30 days of the day of the sale and with a release date of Boxing Day that's clearly not going to happen.

I don't think eBay enforces that unless the buyer complains. They don't have a way to check the release date of every pre-order that people put on their site.

I managed to snatch one copy on pre-order last Sunday, I was refreshing the page when to my surprise it was live a half an hour early. Then it would say sold out then live again and then sold out again, apparently there was some sort of glitch which they said they corrected on Zavvi's twitter page. It sold out so fast that I suspected there could have been some bulk orders from scalpers, I'm glad Zavvi is cracking down on it so that real fans of the movie can get a chance to buy it.

I don't think they care. Further to that, its possible they might have multiple accounts at Zavvi. 2 orders per account i assume.

Of course they don't care. Ebay should have this policy regarding orders - they have to be shipped in 14 days or less from the day the order was placed and 7 days or less if the money was charged up front). That's how I would get rid of scalpers :)

Do you think creating multiple accounts helps? I think you need to have multiple credit/debit cards as well.
I can have 20 zavvi accounts and use the same credit card on all of them but I think zavvi would cancel most if not all of my orders. I could be wrong, though.

Ebay do have a policy of shipping. You are supposed to ship within 2 to 7 days on the order depending on the item. It's in the ebay rules. says so on my account anyway

I also snagged a copy it seems almost immediately once the page went live early. I really hope that the copies from people who ordered way too many get put back so others can get one.

It all depends on wether zavvi had a limit but that seems unlikely. They just want them sold. They didn't give a toss who buys them as long as they make their money.

I'm pretty sure if you'd order 20 copies of Fright Night steelbook that zavvi would cancel your order. Based on it's a new release. They couldn't care less for older releases that are still in stock after months or years since release.

Do steelbooks fall in this policy?
Some scalpers are selling pre-orders on ebay 4 weeks or even more in advance. How come ebay doesn't delete or disable their listing(s)?

That's a good point but I do know you are supposed to send the item within a specified time.

I'm sure it was mentioned the other day on br.com or something that one was coming out. Can't find the thread, been looking for it but I'm sure I read it. Anyway doesn't mater, this film seems to be going for silly money regardless. No idea why. We've had over 5000 blu-ray pressed in the USA and they are gone and now this. Must be a seriously popular film!

What I find strange is that there is no press release or any info on this from Eureka themselves.

Nothing on their website or Facebook page. No mention of this release at all but their other steelbooks were.

Surely there will have to be more copies available to order directly from their site too?

It's even more amazing when I think there is a forthcoming USA steelbook of it anyway.
There is no forthcoming USA steelbook release announced and even if that does happen at a later time from another distributor in USA it won't be this steelbook Eureka releases are UK only

The only mention on BD forum was members discussing the previous 2 Twilight Amaray releases and the UK limited edition 4 hour documentary Blu-ray from cultscreenings UK which has 2 hour version documentary on this steelbook from Eureka

This is a fun movie from the 80's. There are a few cheesy moments granted. But The premise for its time was fresh and the stars were great. Roddy McDowall, Chris Sarandon. For me, those overly large vampire mouths freaked me out! :hilarious:

I still enjoyed the remake. Thought Colin Farrell was a creepy a$$ vamp and Yelchin was great as Charley. Loved David Tenant's performance too.
