Descriptions and pics of the few that I've seen clearly show paint chips, scuffs and scratches that should not be there - out with the Sharpie (LOL) - and in no way attributable to the application of the paint job streaky or otherwise.
There is an issue here that Scanavo or whichever company has the job of attaching the j-cards and shrinkwrap needs to address ASAP (IMO).

Well I gave Eureka my address so they're going to ship me my replacement, hopefully it's in good shape when I get it. For me personally there was definitely some quality control issues, I mean I can let one or two faint scratches slide but not multiple scratches in the front and back and paint chips. At least Eureka is trying to make it right so I give them props for that.

Recieved my replacement today, just the steelbook with booklet. No discs, which is fair enough with me. Steelbook is mint.

How did you get in touch with them? Do they have a website? I've not bothered cos I worried that I would have to send my one back which has a perfect front and a scuffed up back so I didn't want to lose it and get a replacement that may get damaged in the post. Are they not asking people to send the damaged ones back?

Yes they have a website, from what I read so far their sending replacements unsealed after checking them. Not sure if replacement are done outside of UK and if they request damaged ones back or not.

Email them at [email protected] and they hopefully will be able to sort you out.

Check the back of the steelbook to see if the faint scratches show up it's under the paint as in not surface scratches
You only see them when under artifical light and at a angle
A mobile phone light or camera flash will show them

Clearly the appropriate thing, i this instance, is for a full reprint to go back on sale once all damaged steels have been replaced.

What would also be good, would be for the reprint to have artwork on the back.

I live in the US so it'll probably take 14 to 16 days until I get my replacement. I did request in the e-mail that they put it in a box and well protected for shipping. I highly doubt they'll manufacture new ones unless they are flooded with hundreds of requests.

Good question. Do we know what sort of packaging Eureka are shipping these out in?

And how is this controlled if you don't have to send back the original? How do you prove that you have a damaged copy? Do they just take your word for it or do you have to provide photos?

Anyone who wants a free copy could just contact them with some photos from this forum and say otherwise......

This release has been a disaster from start to finish for Eureka.

Mine was shipped in a padded envelope and as for the bold text, I'd like to think members wouldn't be commiting fraud/theft

Mine was wrapped in bubble wrap then wrapped in thick card like HMV use.

There are couple of marks yes if you really look for them. My original copy has loads of surface scratches though.

Then it's the same issue with the replacements they still have faint scratches under the matte surface that show up at a angle when artificial light or a camera photo taken

Some customers got different issues with paint chips and other surface scratches but these where different to the main issue lot's of faint scratches on the back that show up under artificial light but at first look look as if the steelbook is in mint condition

It was then a production issue when the matte paint was applied

There manufacturing process is crazy, they have this problem all the time and need to sort it out. I got a replacement from zavvi the otherday but I'm scared to open it. Because if it has scratches on it again, it's got a good chance of getting smashed up the wall. Drives my ocd mad
