I think something like these...'Let Me In' has a plastic sleeve with info printed on it and it covers the original case and 'Aladdin' has a clear plastic sleeve...these types are much handier and tidier than the plastic bags. They cost a bit more obviously but with people throwing 24.99 away at rubbish steelbooks these days whats another 70p or so?

Yes, mate. More transparent like the Aladdin slipcover but with minimal print (such as the Title and ratings) like "What Lies Beneath". Also, this would come standard with these Title-free SBs. No extra cost, of course. As it should be free. I mean, toys and other products come in the same kind of plastic as standard packaging that simply gets thrown away. I don't imagine it would cost SBs a significant amount. Downside: Slipcovers will just be another obsessive compulsive factor for collectors.

I hate to say this, and I'm not trying to be arguementative, but I really like it! If all steelbooks had titles down the spine or crap written all over the front to distract you from the picture, then the world of steelbooks would be a boring place. I think it's good once in a while to shake things up. I myself like the fact that there's not loads of stuff written on the front, even the title and no 3d logo. I like it.

Same here, love the title less, less busy artwork
Hate the spine without title but I'll deal

You can get them off eBay. The one in the photo is a steel shell made by a German seller called blu steels, he has his own website where you can order them direct also. Cheaper to go through eBay though. Other sellers sell slipcovers, which are good too, I prefer his though, they are more robust.

Here's a video about the German "Steel Shell" type. There are several different types and sizes being sold by various people and I've tried most of them- but these are the best quality imo for opened steelbooks.
The cost a little extra but they are worth it. They also sell sleeves to fit the 'jumbo' sized steelbooks and some very cool display stands.
One thing to note is that the 2 folding tabs on the spine should be folded flat against the back of the steelbook and not against the back spine as shown in the video. (You can see them folded correctly in the pic of the Aladdin steelbook I posted on previous page).
(Link to the Steel-Shell website and eBay are in the description below the video)
