As usual Zavvi are ignoring me. Asked them about 4 times now if they can confirm what the finish will be on this one. I think with the Thor disaster they aren't going to reply to anyone on this till they have shipped them!

I hope the one without the border is the one that is used, the border just kills it

There isn't any border. That's just a template displaying the artwork. That 'blue border' is supposed to portray the top and side edges of the Steelbook. Strange I know, but these pics came directly from the printing press I'd imagine.

I think by now they know glossy steels are sought after and if they knew they were glossy, I'm sure they'd advertise so like they did with The Aviator, and more recently, Mary Poppins. In other words, if it doesn't state the finish, all signs are most likely pointing to a matte finish.

This steelbook is stunning!!! I liked the movie Frozen, didn't like the previous steelbook Zavvi sold of Frozen, but the artwork on this one is irresistible. :)

I still don't get the lack of a title on the spine and front. The spine appears to have a perfect space for the title and there is an glaringly obvious space on the front too. Maybe the finished artwork was not uploaded... we can only hope.

That's the final artwork, same as the French edition.

I might cancel this one as after repeated attempts, Zavvi still haven't confirmed the finish on this one, while later releases have had their finish confirmed.

Probably because they know for a fact if they reveal the finish it will cause cancelled orders.

I'm new here, so help me understand...does everyone not want it to be matte because all the rest are glossy and that would ruin the look of the collection?

Or do people just dislike matte steelbooks in general?

I like both but probably prefer matte, it varies from steel to steel.

Generally gloss is preferred by the majority of collectors, and often a gloss steel will sell out far faster than if it was matte. That being said it depends on the overall design. Some suit matte with gloss touches, others look good as just matte.

In the case of this image it should be 100% gloss to do it justice. :)

And to add on, there are really sub-par matte finishes that somehow dulls the artwork. I would much rather take my chances with gloss any day, especially if the art contains bright/striking colors. ;)

Yeah I get what you mean, I think this will look better glossy too. However I am kind of disappointed by the fact that they made The Little Mermaid artwork completely different to the rest

However I think it looks amazing, just wondering why they would break the pattern they had going. I would of preferred alternate artwork for all, that would of bee awesome!
