Thanks as I was wondering why I couldn't get access. I use to be able to go to Future Shop when I lived near Seattle. But, now I am a disabled senior so I need all the breaks I can! Are you doing a GB and/or have access to other Future Shop goodies like the NEW Star Trek Wrath of Khan steelbook?

Just so you know Best Buy in USA will also be getting same "Star trek wrath of khan" steelbook. [emoji4]

Agreed, they are the same company. Doesn't that make them an even bigger? If they aren't then you tell me the reason why they don't offer shipping outside of Canada?

Not really; actually, Best Buy is in lots of financial trouble and will probably not be around within the next 5 years. They have a very poor business model, even though they do price match anyone including Costco, Amazon [not third party] and more. As I and corporate along with local GM have discussed, the reason they do not ship outside is they just do not want to be bothered with it all plus the fact that then people would have to apply to get the second tax back and there's just too much hassle and they choice to just ship locally.

My local FS store, and I assume all of the FS stores, have recently revamped and reorganized their DVD and Blu-Ray sections of the store. After this happened I noticed they got rid of old stock of movies, incuding many steelbooks/metal packagings but they did keep their "Steebook Display Section" with alot of the HP and older Alliance waves and of course new release steelbooks.

However, it appears (at least in my local FS) they have now got rid of the Steelbook Display Section totally and now the only steelbooks left for movies (other than new releases) is Spiderman. :(

Just wondering if these changes are widespread and if this is a sign that FS is slowly moving away from Movie Steelbooks, or what the heck is going on.
When I had a chance to be in Vancouver, the BEST one was FS in Coquitlam. They had 2 full racks of Steelbooks!

Makes sense, I guess that's another reason why they don't. Surely not the only reason. It is probably the deciding factor though. If BestBuy closes does that mean FS will be closing as well?

I had no idea. So they are doing it over the years, unlike Target.
Unlike Target, FS have the retailer monopole i think. But since our country charge sooooo much taxes, 15% in Quebec !!! They are loosing the fight over Amazon. (Maybe it's bullshit but i heard an Radio-Canada interview about it 2 years ago).

Yea taxes :cautious: tell me about it. But that's a discussion for another thread.
Doesn't Amazon charge 15% to Quebec addresses?

If you buy direclty from amazon, yes. But when you go on more buying offer, new and used one have no taxes ! So you can buy the game or movie you want, cheaper, no taxes and you can sit on your ass ! Thanks amazon

Oh I see. I haven't had the need to buy from a third party yet. I will keep that in mind for future reference  thanks.
I hope futureshop somehow at least keeps their movie side operational. Love the mondo exclusives they are doing. :D

I would assume so as it is one company, but poorly managed for years. They just seem to care about their executive salaries and parachutes rather than customers. At the beginning, Best Buy meant something as you could be guaranteed of the lowest price without having to go to Highland, Silo, Gateway, CompUSA, Circuit City, etc. Now, Best Buy has higher than the MSRP most of the time, but most don't even know that they price match just about anyone one even Amazon so long as it says sold by Amazon and not a third-party. They are missing the boat with selling all this little crappola like a convenience store rather than concentrate on what matters as well as Customer Support!

Yea Customer support seems to be all over the place. I had good experiences with BB but always had issues with FS.

Actually, when I had the opportunity to go to Vancouver, BC, which by the way now stands for BRING CASH - LOL, I had awesome experience with FS as they handled some returns and cancellations and some foreign transactions expertly for me in person. Over the phone, I would assume they're just about like most any company that has great difficulty in providing customer service. The ONLY 2 companies that I have NEVER had an issue with is Costco and American Express. They are always seamless and AX always works on your behalf so you never have to worry about being screwed by a company!

Haven't been to Vancouver myself, but I will one day ;). I guess I was right in saying FS customer support is all over the place. Some good, some bad :p
