More money for Paramount/retailers if they DON'T include it in the Steelbook, so I doubt they will. You never know, though. At the moment, I'm pretty sure this extended cut is exclusive to Best Buy only.

^^ well that sucks never heard of an retailer exclusive version of a film either. hopefully it's just for north america and UK will at least have the extended edition available for sale at all retailers

Strange that BB and FS would receive the same exclusive in Canada. I was definitely expecting FS to receive the Steelbook. Either way, thanks for the info... I added it to the OP!

I'm going for this edition, too. The 3D wasn't THAT impressive, so I'd rather get extra footage than that.
