Saw this yesterday too, when an item is under review it means someone has got in touch with them and made some comments about the product for sale. I've done this before over something (can't remember what) and the item ended up on review for a few days

The price for season 2 has dropped to £19.99

Im glad i skipped these, especially with the hassle people have had. I prefer the individual boxsets, more artwork ;)

That how these will be its how they fit 5 discs in a standard size G2 Steelbook otherwise it would need to be a jumbo steelbook if they did not stack the discs on top of each other on the hub

Wreck already posted images ages ago of the inside of these new G2 steelbook cases that can have 5-6 discs and not be a jumbo steelbook

That's not true. Look at the old FS Disney MB's. Specifically, POTC 4, Brave, Avengers and Cars2. All 5 diskers That fits in a G2 case. I realize the 5th digital copy disk was packed attached to the back, but you can fit this in the case too. The disk holder looks square, but not perfectly square, arrange it the right way and all 5 disks can fit, they aren't stacked like this.

Ok guys ... Here is how they can now put 5 or 6 disc in a g2 regular case now.

Simple but effective. And if you don't like, then I want to see your support in Jumbo threads. :p

You are confusing Metal pack/Viva Cases with Steelbooks
Disney metal packs and Viva Cases are not steelbooks totally different not the same as a steelbook
Steelbooks are from Scanavo

All previous G2 Blu-ray Scanavo steelbooks before Game of thrones steelbook which has 5 discs held a max of 4 Discs if it was 5 or 6 discs it was a jumbo steelbook until the new design
The new Scanavo G2 design can hold up to 6 discs and is achieved by stacking the discs on top of each other
The first use of the new method with 5 discs in a Standard scanavo G2 steelbook is game of thrones

Wreck posted images of this new design (Which I and others asked for photos of the new design)for this reason to show why game of thrones steelbook with 5 discs will not be a jumbo if the new design was not used it would have been a jumbo

The new design from Scanavo which is brand new and only just recently started to be used first with Game of Thrones can hold up to 6 Discs and is new to scanavo steelbook cases
The concept of stacking discs is not new but is new in its use for the first time for a scanavo blu-ray steelbook for a release of 5 discs or more

The new G2 Steelbook design is also used with the UK Mission Impossible Collection Steelbook all 5 films

The Avengers USA Best Buy Viva Case was 3 Discs I have it in my collection

The Avengers USA Blu-ray release itself yes was 5 Discs but came with a free separate Avengers Viva Case it only had disc holder for 3 Discs and does not have disc holder for 5 discs

Show me a previous Blu-ray Scanavo steelbook with 5 or more discs that is not a jumbo beside the new design used with Game of Thrones and Mission Impossible Collection
Not a Metal pack or a Viva Case but a Scanavo Blu-ray steelbook

I'm not too hung up on names. There is a slight difference between, MB's, IP's and SB's, but I've always group them together. All 3 of these cases are considered G2 no? I'm much more interested in the volume of these metal packaging rather than the name. If you were to tell me that MB's have slightly more volume inside the case, this is something I can understand. But if if you were to differentiate them just based on names and slight design differences, that where our opinions will differ. A 6x6 box will have exactly the same volume inside. Whether one is made of metal and the other plastic. Whether one design is called an Iron box and the other one is call a steel case does not change that fact.

G2 Scanavo Steelbooks using disc swing tray and no stacking of discs has a max 4 Discs as does a Viva Metal Case
The Viva cases of POTC 4, Brave,Cars 2 have discs holder for 4 discs only using a swing tray and did not have a disc holder for the fifth disc and are not steelbooks and is why you don't see them listed in a steelbook thread but they are the same only 4 discs max as a G2 steelbook
The Digital copy was in a separate cardboard disc sleeve
(The Avengers Viva Case only had space for 3 Discs )

Previous G2 Steelbook they could hold a max of 4 discs using swing tray to hold 2 discs either side on the swing tray
The problem was with scanavo G2 steelbooks only could have max 4 Discs using a swing tray system so when it was 5 or more discs they had to use a jumbo
To avoid using a jumbo for 5 discs they now use the stacking system to keep it a G2 Steelbook and not a jumbo

Example a 3 disc Scanavo steelbook
Not using a Swing tray
1) Disc on the left
2) 2 Discs on the right

4 Discs Scanavo steelbook and Viva Metal Case with a Swing tray method that is attached to the right side
1) Disc on the left
2) Disc on the swing tray
3) Disc on the swing tray other side
4) Disc on the right

You may ask why not use a swing tray to have 2 discs on both left or right side of the tray to hold 2 discs each side making a G2 Steelbook hold up to 6 discs reason is the spine not possible to attach a disk tray to a spine it has been done with a amaray case as the tray attaches to the spine leaving space both left and right to have 2 discs each side as the tray is not attached on either side and not affecting the disc hubs space to have single or double discs hubs
It has been done yes with G1 DVD Steelbooks 5 discs but that is because of larger space to work with

I don't like the stacking system myself but without it when it's 5 or 6 discs the only other option is to use a jumbo if you don't use the stacking method
I would prefer though they still used the tray method to hold 2 of the discs and use the stacking method on left or right to stack the 5th or 6th discs that way only 1 or 2 discs will be stacked either side instead of all 5 or 6 discs been stacked

I don't think we're on the same page here. You are concentrating on spindles and design, I'm concentrating on total volume of the case, as I've previously stated. Look, I'm very well aware that the old Disney MB's have a maximum of 4 disk holders ok? I have every last one of them, I should know. Just as I know that the 5th disk, which is packed outside of the MB in that little blue holder can EASILY fit inside the MB. If you arrange it correctly. Try it, I 110% guarantee that it will work. Volume my friend, volume, forget the design or what he or she said. Listen to what physics says. You get what I'm saying?

I get where you're coming from dude. That fifth disc though - Is there a way of attaching the blue holder it lives on within the MB? It's all well and good talking volume - I imagine if you melted 20 blu-rays down you could fit them in, same volume right? :p - but if they don't fit in nicely then it doesn't really work. Four discs then an extra one flapping about on its own doesn't look too smooth. I personally wouldn't like it. But then I don't own any MBs so I wouldn't really know.

I've only got one 4 disc steelbook. Shawshank Redemption. It's a bit of a tight fit. I can't see how a fifth disc would fit nicely.

A little bitta sarcasm lol, I like that. Looks like your all hung up an attaching it to the case. If that's so important to you, then no, you cannot attach that paper holder to the case. Just as you cannot attach any pamphlets, booklets, art cards, or any other inserts to the case. Hopefully that doesn't disturb you, or you'll be disappointed again and again that these inserts cannot be attached to the case. For my part, I'm just glad everything can fit into that G2 case, so that everything is complete, and nothing is lost.

Just came across these and I must say that they look stunning based on the pics with masses of content for under 20 quid each which is amazing value imo for a single retailer exclusive compared to the content of other TV seasons in steelbook - the "Sherlock" seasons with two discs each priced the same spring to mind.
Will make a point of picking these up in the New Year.
Not come across this stacking system before but reminds me of the massive 1930s vintage walnut veneered His Master's Voice radiogram radio/record player I inherited which has a similar stacking system for 78s (and LPs/45s) - very "old school" I know but works fine in practice . . .

RE: PRINTED BBFC STAMPS ON THE TRANSLUCENT SLIP - maybe a taste of things to come for the forthcoming translucent slipped Mondos ("Reservoir Dogs", "Labyrinth" and the others)?
Can but hope they skip the stamps on the spines of these slips so as not to partly cover the Mondo "STEELBOOK" logo on the steelbook underneath.

EDIT: 22/12
Wish I hadn't written that bit above about "amazing value" . . . LOL . . . as now both up to GBP 22.99 each.

They didn't sell out at £15.99 so putting them up is a bit silly they must have made loads of these

ye I got my two on BF deals at £15.99, I like them the clear case n stuff it's all good, I'm disappointed about the delay of season 3 & 4 though that's just stupid if they stuck to January they'd make some money esp after everyone just buying 1&2 but to delay it until june approaching holiday time not to mention all the other releases that will take priority over these, and won't we also have civil war at the cinema around that time?
Bad time to release steelbooks unless there huge titles and most are not.
They should have stuck to January sure its just after xmas but people have xmas funds there buying on ebay I've sold a bunch of stuff over the last 10 days, jan sales are on sure but people just got steels for xmas just opened season 1&2 it would have been perfect for then, but now that's screwed up, they're really not doing themselves any favours.
