Thanks to the excellent unboxing in French by Passion Steelbooks it's crystal clear what we are getting (as if we didn't already know already lol).
Zero finish, de-bossing to front and back and metallic reflections in the red.
Can't say hand on heart, despite those nice touches, that it stand up well to The Americas edition and it seems (surprisingly to me) that a full gloss varnish makes a BIG difference with this particular artwork and colouring and now inclined to feel that all steelbooks painted in strong colours - like red - should have a full gloss finish.
Anyway, a few last pics of this same steelbook (from France) and however good or bad I feel it is it's clearly a crowd-pleaser and a big seller with the U.K. "Sold out" and 6.000 units sold online in France (reportedly now only available there to buy in-store). Also "currently unavailable" on Amazon.de:-

This thing looks more pink than red. I think by the various posts, full gloss wins over debosse by a wide margin. Which in turn means that the Canadian version would be the most desirable, due to the fact that it's 10x rarer than the U.S version, and can easily be recognized by the bilingual back card.

no charge yet but I've been charged anywhere from the Monday to the Friday before release, so wont be worried until release day if there is no movement.

I had one of each on order and cancelled both when i heard about the finish, im sure this will come back in stock. I was gonna wait for FAC but if that's gonna have the matte steel ill probably go for the US one, just need to find out if the 4k & 2d disks are region free, anyone know?

4K UHD Blu-ray discs are always region free.

Has anyone had their debit/credit card charged yet or payment problem email for the 3D steelbook

That's the 3D steelbook not the 4K steelbook

I don't have 4k yet, is the 2d blu-ray region free do u know? Cheers

Nobody seems to know anywhere. North America or Europe. If they do, nobody is saying.
I actually have the Canadian 4K Steelbook release and there isn't any indication on the packaging or the Blu-ray disc as to the Region code. Obviously it's at least Region A.

Does anybody at all know of any way to find out if a Blu-ray disc is region free once you actually have the disc out of the case and in your hand? Other than popping it into a region free Blu-ray player? (which I don't have)

Will putting it into a computer Blu-ray drive or burner give any information?

I'm just trying to help.
