We shouldn’t complain about it when people wants to pay loads and drives up the value. It keeps the market healthy for collection and retention values.
Absolutely agree. The hobby is doing well when even with the current world situation the demand remains high. We should all be happy it is. Even if we can't pay anything close to this, some can and will.
I like knowing that I could sell an edition for a couple pallets of toilet paper, should I need it, instead of for 12 rolls.

you dont understand it.
collectors dont have problems to pay more money, let's say $150 + shipping ...maybe even $200, that's no biggie ...a collector who is mentally healthy wont buy this for $450 (exception: when you are rich) at least I wouldnt do that.
I'll try to get it for a "fair" price ~$200 shipped. maybe I'll find a copy for that price ...if not, then life goes on.

trust me I do. I paid those prices and of course I won't buy this for 450$.
Maybe you could have gotten this for a "fair" price if there wouldn't be resellers getting at least 6 copies of such a high demand release.

Then you got 3 options which are pretty simple.

A - Wait for a better opportunity and be patient
B - Pay the sellers price
C - Accept there’s a hole in your collection

tell that those collectors who missed out because some few got multiple copies just to resell them for crazy Prices.
There was a time, people hated scalpers but I guess it's okay in this case because he's doing a lot for this Forum ;)

@Jeek

As the owner, I can say he does not do "a lot" for this forum. Spread that fud elsewhere. There are plenty of members here who sell on the aftermarket. We dont protect them. He is a valued member of the community tho as he helps in many instances members get stuff, and then yes he also tries to sell other stuff at inflated prices. I've seen him help many folks at cost , and of course also seen him sell many at high prices. I've seen that with MANY members who have come and gone and some still here over the decade this site has been around.

If someone can do it while remaining civil, people are free to call people out , bash them etc, if done without "attacking" to the point a mod needs to step in. You want to grab 10 copies of something and sell for 300 each then you should expect criticism if you are ousted. We are here to remain neutral in that. But if members curse, attack or take it to a whole other level then we come and clean it up (thread) then some want to act like we are condoning it. Nope. Its just how one wants to go about handling it. Last thing any of the staff wants to do is have to spend time on moderating that. Not here to protect resellers from the "heat" that comes from being int the kitchen.

I'm not a fan of scalping but in reality I don't actually care if the account, transaction or price is nothing to do with me.
I also know those who complain about it also do it themselves because the measuring stick is always going to be ebay and god forbid that somebody might lose out on £50... £30... £10 less than what they go for.
It's a choice to buy or not to buy (just like shelling out for overpriced plain Jane Zavvi releases that won't get any better).
You can mock it or have a jovial laugh about ebay prices all day long but nothing will change and you cannot control or try
to control how others feel about it themselves, whether they agree with it or not.

One thing you need to be careful of in all of this though is getting too close to biting off the hand that feeds you if there are no other long term alternatives.

Gotta love this forum and site :). In the past I've paid scalper prices on eBay because I only joined here last year and there was old grail releases sort after. But with help and advice from some great ninjas (too many to name but you know who you are), I was able to hunt down some of my big list whilst also trying to keep on top of new releases. At some point I'll upload pics especially the mint drive and death proof specials wreck and the crew sorted for us ninjas. I'd say pretty much 99% of GB hosts have and still go above and beyond to help us ninjas out. The other 1% unfortunately helped me out with a release sold out in seconds direct with a statement like 'No not really ! eBay is for scalping, community service work is limited to HDN ;)' I was a newbie tbf at the time so maybe I would have got more help if I was an experienced ninja at the time but it definitely wasn't helpful. Think it's been a year or so since I joined so think I'd just like to say much appreciation to ninjas on here n long may collecting , grail hunting and debates continue. Keep safe guys n gals n stick a lime in ya corona :)

Bring on the hate and along with it the free publicity. Managed to offload 4 copies that would probably be sitting if nobody talked about it. So thank you :D

eBay is for scalping, community service work is limited to HDN. I will put it on my sig later.
