With the recent announcement from blu-raydisc.de about Gladiator getting re-releaesed in Germany under Universal (region free ) with a new remastered version for its anniversary edition do you guys think a possible steelbook rerelease could be created?

I guess if your a huge Gladiator fan (like me) you could import the discs and insert them in your gladiator steel if you have one opened (taiwan, ftw!)

Well it claims this is the new master plus extra bonus footage. But I seriously doubt this will be the only country to release this ... so I'll wait for now.

I'm still happy with my Taiwan one, it pwns. My other 2 are nice but not as nice as the Taiwan.

yeah must be, i also read in a dutch forum, that a member contacted universal.nl, and that they confirmed that it is a new master, and that it will have extras. hope it's true though!

The sword, his shoulders and the shield, is silver fluorescent The strip is no gold sticker, and the blue banner on the back side, is no sticker

So I am assuming it's identical to the Taiwanese Steelbook. Picture is huge btw.

Glad I waited a bit - but I hear the new transfer is to die for.

Yes, I shelled out for the remastered version and about 2 days later the disc exchange was announced.

You're quite right though looks and sounds, well, just as gladiator should.

i heard from bert today from blu-ray movies drunen,he has now got them.they arrived today,he said the sword,shield & his shoulders is silver fluorescent the strip is no gold sticker & the blue banner on the back side is no sticker.so peeps with orders on this dutch steel be patient.he said he has loads to pack up & send out & he's on his own.but he said they will be sent from monday.im just glad he has them now,july 7th i put my order in with this gladiator & total recall.both being sent out together,i cant wait.i have the uk steel,i want to see the difference in picture quality.

That's where I got the picture from, I got an email early in the morning and yes he claimed that some parts will be shiny. Just like the Taiwanese steelbook.
