Gladiator (Blu-ray SteelBook) (Universal 100th Anniversary) [Germany]

I like the look of the German one better. Cleaner, very sleek. I know you can see it in both versions but I like the fact that it has the Coliseum and the buildings of Rome in the background. It just looks better because it is pulled back and pinpoints detail to everything in the picture so much better.
Maybe it's the way the flash is pointed/directed in Plabeys pics but Russell Crowe does look different in the pics and the quality of NL looks better. I have neither of these so can't say. But been recently trying to add the NL version to my collection. Might need to add the German one as well. Forget double dipping that's quadruple dipping!

I regret not getting that one when I had the chance, too bad I was not into slipcovers back then.
For some reason I still think the UK Steelbook is the best looking art out of the bunch out there even with the printed logos 
And the Australian metal slip is even better than the UK one because it doesn't have the title going right across the helmet. It's a cleaner look - and without the printed bbfc logos.
I like the new German design, but to me it doesn't seem quite as nicely made as the Dutch one. These new MM releases are all budget titles and seem quite cheaply produced. I have a couple of the new Gladiators and on both the paint is quite thin, with one or two spots on the back showing the bare steel through. Same for one or two others from that new MM wave. I don't think they put much money into making them and it shows sometimes.

just ordered this version of gladiator. hopefully it looks as cool as it does in the pictures.

They all have the same inside artwork which is just a picture of the other Universal 100th Anniversary Steelbooks.
This is gonna sound crazy, but I recently was stacking my steelbooks up when I noticed the new premium collection (Seven in this instance) looks badass with a blu ray banner - they always do with white backgrounds. Kind of like Star Trek and Transformers ROTF.
Somewhere between the NL version without that gold anniversary thing, and this version would be great. I'm loving the fact there is no writing over this also, but a banner on this might not be so bad guys..
