Go on then - Ask me anything

Theale is a mystical land of rolling hills, bubbling streams and jam doughnuts. It's a jolly place when everyone is happy and unicorns frolic in the summers sun making rainbows for all the girls and boys.

Alternatively, it's a village just outside Reading in the UK.

What is your favorite movie? Your least favorite movie? Your first steelbook? Your favorite steelbook?

Fave film does depend on what mood I'm in, but I do keep going back to The Breakfast Club. It is a truly wonderful film and John Hughes is sadly missed.
Least fave film is a toughie as if I'm not enjoying a film, I switch it off or walk out of the cinema. I guess it would have to be Pretty Woman - a horrible film that portrays prostitution as a way of getting rich.
First Steelbook - I think it was The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec
Fave Steelbook - There are loads I love, but my heart is torn between Volt and Kimchi's Tangled.

I'm going to have to unleash the fury.

I work with a bunch of people from the UK, and the constantly give me a hard time about me writing MM-DD-YY on documents and such.

They claim that there is a mystical triangle, unseen by Americans, that proves dates should be written from smallest to largest meaning DD-MM-YY.

My question to them has always been, then why, when they speak it aloud, do they say it "American Style" December 25th 2014 at least 90% of the time to which they all look at me stunned.

So, Mr. UK, I come to you for a definitive answer.

This all stems from religion. In the written format on religious and then legal documents it was "the 22nd day of July in the year of our Lord 2014". This was then shortened over time to 22/07/2014. Speech evolves faster than the written word and because every media outlet is heavily influenced by America youthful generations have adopted the wrong way of speaking :D

For some reason the US liked the idea of logical progression in dates, so small, middle, big became the format (1-12, 1-31, 1-2014).

Personally I think it's because you're odd :)

Mnementh

What is the ONE movie that you thought deserved better recognition than what it did receive? Any Era.

Easy. Hudson Hawk. Great film.

From Dragonriders of Pern, Mnementh (pronounced "nementh") is the bronze dragon of F'lar, the Weyrleader of Benden Weyr during the Ninth Pass. Mnementh is the sole mate of gold dragon Ramoth and thus the sire or ancestor of many dragons born during the Ninth Pass. He is also the second-largest dragon on Pern, after Ramoth (though Ramoth is not much larger), although Jaxom's Ruth mistakenly describes him as "the biggest dragon on all Pern".

Having never read the books I have no idea if what I've stolen from Wikipedia is correct :)

A good friend of mine who was unfortunately killed in a road accident about 20 years ago used it. I took over the mantle in honour of him and to remember him by. Before that I was using Pantsofpoo hence my ebay ID. I would love to change it, but someone else already uses it there.

Well the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain.

But should we talk about the weather?
Should we talk about the government?

Hello, how are you? I know you, I knew you
I think I can remember your name, name
Hello, I'm sorry I lost myself
