Not that it's any of the retailers fault (Zavvi/FS/BB), i think Disney Marvel is getting lazy cause they know most of us will buy their products regardless of quality..(lazy art, no title, sometimes wrong embossing, poor finish)..I think this might be the Disappointment of The Year considering we have been so excited for this release.

See this is what I don't understand

How can ES be able to do another Steelbook for the UK with these two titles yet for Guardians of the Galaxy it's a big no no.

I always find that despite what the film is like quality wise ES always has some amazing artwork, now people say it's up to the studios with what artwork steelbooks have but ES seems to have a good track record so far, except for that god awful "3D" on the 300 one. Do ES send artwork to get approved by the studios or do they do it for them? Because I can't understand how ES gets better artwork then most of the Zavvi exclusives.

Surely they could of asked if they could do a Guardians of the Galaxy Steelbook, it's a much better film then 300 and Transformers.

Does anyone know how this whole process works?

I think the problem is that Disney won't allow!!! Paramount DOES! They did several different artworks for a couple of their releases in the past (WWZ, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Hansel & Gretel, Star Trek Into Darkness...) and now with Transformers: Age of Extinction and 300 Rise of an Empire...
And with Disney Steelbooks (at least for Marvel!) i think the Designs have all be the same (or only some differences in Metal packaging (Avengers VMB in USA/CA and Asia, Steelbook in Europe) and finish (debossed Title in USA/CA and titleless in Europe and Asia) for Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2!
Only different Artwork is the german IM3 (and not a great!) but only as that is distributed from Concorde in Germany...

Nice idea, but doesn't work for a Steelbook. Should've been a custom package or a digipack of some sort with the Walkman as the outer box and the cassette as the inside.

The movie is so colorful and vibrant. The updated artwork is lackluster, lifeless and totally boring IMO. Why chose such a random item from one character to be representative of the movie? The Walkman itself is not iconic. I didn't order this as I thought there would be more releases elsewhere and was secretly hoping for a US release. I hope BB/FS do not follow suite with this artwork.
