For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

What do you mean? That's the perfect photo...if you are after a dazed and confused threat that no-one would be scared of, haha.

I've just been sent the official press release -

● All new audio commentary with Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Jamie Lee Curtis.

● The Night She Came Home - A new 59 minute featurette starring Jamie Lee Curtis.

● On Location: 25 Years Later

● Trailer

● 3 x TV Spots

● 3 x Radio Spots

This certainly doesn't warrant two discs IMO and looks as if it drops the TV scenes from the US release. I hope this is incorrect as I was hoping the features were going to be the same as the US

The only images in the Press Release were the same as we already have now. No images of the back or inside

cooey, so according to the press release the UK and US 35th editions will come with different extras (i.e. the US gets more)?

Also is the UK version getting just the TV cut scenes as extras, or are they getting the whole TV cut?

Also thanks for the info cooey, you seem to no everything ;)

US Edition -

Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition features 1080p video, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Original Mono audio tracks, and the following extras:

•All-new commentary track with writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis
•"The Night She Came Home" new featurette with Jamie Lee Curtis (HD)
•On Location
•Trailers
•TV & Radio Spots
•Additional Scenes from TV Version

&

UK Edition

● All new audio commentary with Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Jamie Lee Curtis.
● The Night She Came Home - A new 59 minute featurette starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
● On Location: 25 Years Later
● Trailer
● 3 x TV Spots
● 3 x Radio Spots

So seems to be the same, but the UK BD seems to lose the additional TV scenes

No full TV cut on either of them unlike the old DVD unfortunately

What I will say is, I would assume it will be the same as the US as there's no reason for it to differ. Maybe the PR I received was incorrect?

We still don't know what the second disc is
We can speculate its a dvd of the film or tv cut
What we need is official info what the second disc is or its an error and there is no second disc

Note Zavvi have changed info to 1 Disc
Amazom uk still have 2 discs

I suspect its only 1 Disc

Remember though that US version won't have the TV version on the disc, only the scenes that were taken from it; so it would be more of a 'deleted scenes' kind of thing

Damn might cancel and get US version.
Dont own the TV version at all.

USA Release 35th Anniversary Edition does not have the Full TV version
its only the deleted scenes = Additional Scenes from TV Version
The deleted scenes were already shown in the A Cut Above The Rest documentary that's on the previous release

Yes but still would be nice to have the scenes to watch.
I only really remember 2 extra scenes been shown on the cut above rest, are there only 2 extra scenes?

There was twelve minutes of new material for Halloween filmed when production of Halloween 2 had started
Halloween TV Version was broadcast first in October 1981

TV Version was the following
newly filmed scenes To fill the two-hour time slot for TV
1) Dr. Loomis at a hospital board review of Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis talking to a then 6-year-old Michael at Smith's Grove, telling him, "You've fooled them, haven't you Michael? But not me."

2)Another extra scene features Dr. Loomis at Smith's Grove examining Michael's abandoned cell after his escape and seeing the word "Sister" scratched into the door.

3)Scene was added in which Lynda comes over to Laurie's house to borrow a silk blouse before Laurie leaves to babysit, just as Annie telephones asking to borrow the same blouse. The new scene had Laurie's hair hidden by a towel, since Curtis was by then wearing a much shorter hairstyle than she had worn in 1978

Total was 12 min

These TV scenes were on the cut above rest documentary and on the halloween 25 years of terror documentary

Most of the extra min was for Dr. Loomis at a hospital board review scenes

If there are new scenes I not sure what they can be

Note John Carpenter was against making the scenes but was paid well for it
The scenes sort take away the mystery of Michael Myers to me and are not needed

Luckily i got the TV version in the blu ray 30th anniversary commemorative set although the TV cut is only on a DVD, so its not that much of a loss, pluss the TV cut is a waste of time as it was filmed during the 2nd film so don't consider it as a film, but more as an extra ;)

I will have to keep my US order though just in case they change anything else ;)
