For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

Either you received a different disc from me or I need to borrow some of your weed before watching again. :scat:

I understand everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it but I found the transfer to be mediocre and rather poor and for once, the experts at High Def Digest agreed with me.

I would totally disagree with this statement, the transfer and audio are excellent I would look at who else might be on the weed. EEK!

The film is 35 years old.... people seem to expect it to look fantastic, and let's face it, it won't. However, from what I've seen of the transfer so far in my opinion it looks superb!

Do you have the Previous 2007 Blu-ray
Compare them

Halloween 35th Anniversary Edition Video quality is big improvement on the 2007 release and for review's never rely on one site for reviews

Experts at High Def Digest :hilarious: some of there reviews are ?
Some reviewers are good and some reviewers are really bad at doing reviews

Never rely on one site for a review always read other sites and make sure the review is for the exact Blu-ray not a previous release

The most important and best Blu-ray reviewer is yourself
If you like the film video/audio/extras that's all that matters
A happy Fan is what counts not what someone else thinks

And if you don't like it that's fine as what you want is important
Then that does not mean others are going to agree with you as they like it

The Only surprise to me is there has not been a special Box Set with more extras released for 35th as there was with the 25th (10 Years ago only its like was recent were the time gone EEK!)

The Steelbook itself is class high quality from Anchor Bay and at fantastic price for a Steelbook compared to other recent Steelbook releases

I got my replacement Amazon copy in perfect condition apart from the weird black line on the front, I can only see it at a certain angle but still a bit annoying though, not sure if its worth ordering another as I get the feeling something else will be wrong with that one lol

Nice, arrived today ;)
Only thing is that the booklet are just the pages from the US digi, oh well ;)

This looks awesome, can't wait to receive it. Bugs me that they never changed it to The Night He Came Home, but everything else looks sharp. Kudos.

Got this today damaged as usual from Amazon.
I'm getting bored of this hobby with the continuous need to send things back and then having to cross your fingers the replacement isn't the same. I thought statues and collectibles were bad , this is a joke.

That's pretty bad.
Its not that I'm getting bored with steelbooks, it's the somewhat blinding that other collectors are having to other versions.
I got the Target Oblivion as I thought it was a nice change. With Pacific Rim I will not get a steelbook, I'm in the US now and will try to get the store exclusive slips.

How was it packaged? I got my copy today, expecting Amazons usual 'box' style packaging but it came in a regular card mailer that they ship amaray cases in. I expected it to be dented to hell but on a first inspection it appears ok, although Ive not removed the shrinkwrap yet

It was in a card mailer believe it or not. I suppose you're right jdslater that it's not steelbook that are getting boring but the annoyance of having this happen more often that not for me. More to the point I don't have the time to be messing around at the post office every other day.
