OLD IMAGE:

The film that ushered in the modern age of horror - Jamie Lee Curtis, in her debut role, plays a babysitter who must protect herself from the deadly Michael Myers, a mental institution escapee who killed his sister on Halloween fifteen years earlier. Called "the most successful independent motion picture of all time, HALLOWEEN is one of most frightening films ever made. Packed with brand-new extras and a brand new HD transfer from original vault elements for a true, definitive collector's edition.

ORIGINAL POST:
I am posting this here, as I know there are many fans of the film, and it could turn out to be some collector's edition (though it does not say that here). But, so I don't lose the thread, I won't put it in the regular Blu-Ray area for the USA just in case.

Per 'The Digital Bits':

Anchor Bay has revealed that they’re working on a new Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray and DVD later this year. They’re calling it “the greatest version with exciting extras” and have even reunited star Jamie Lee Curtis and director John Carpenter for the festivities. We’ll have more official details as they’re announced.

Looks good, would prefer it not to have the orange banner, but hay, Halloween in a digi in English EEK!... How can i complain :p

Would love for Anchor Bay to confirm he extras on this disc, would love a new print also... plus region A isn't a problem for me which is nice :scat:

so this wont be region free as i had thought a few were?

The Anchor Bay Halloween relwase is region free, but then the rest of the Anchor Bay hallpweens are region locked along with most of their blu ray titles... Going ob their recent history i would say region A, however because the original Halloween release was region free this might be as well, especially if we don't get this release globally (which we won't)

Hope that helps

I like Digis, but they should have gone all out for this one. I have a friend who has a life-sized Michael Mysers in her livingroom, her and her husband won it somewhere..so now they dress him up for the holidays...it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen :hilarious: Seriously, though at least a butcherblock with some nice knives could have been added...

:hilarious:

Haha, speaking of, Tech from house alarm co had to come today to do some maintenance....he noticed my ridiculous movie collection in one of our rooms, and told me how his friend went and took a picture of the original house used in 'Halloween', haha, it was pretty cool. He waited here until his cell signal allowed him to download the pic, and mentioned he had gone with his friend to some horror events, too...LOL, very cool. Funny how we had that conversation today, as I was in the thread :scat:

Did you later direct him to Hi-Def Ninja for all of his latest Halloween-related news? ;)

That's pretty hilarious, though. I wish I'd get a cool install guy to come to my house. I seem to only attract the weird ones, though.

I love horror movies, but I've somehow never watched this. This looks like a good reason to finally buy and watch it.

You're in for a treat then... and maybe even some nightmares! I can watch any horror film and then forget about them later at night, but the first Halloween, that always keeps me up thinking away. Michael Myers is the scariest horror villain in history.
