Response from ES about the finish they are going for on this release:

There’s an emboss on the title treatment, gloss varnish on the front, cutting out the characters and a dull varnish covering the back.

The red text and red image on the back is also a pantone red, which should be a bright pillar box red.

Looks good, wanted a copy, accepted that the price was one I would be paying either from the company or on ebay (or on HDN marketplace, TBH). Know I can make a couple of quid on it.

While I appreciate the ebay/no ebay references, here's the side I don't see mentioned on here for you.

If I don't trade on ebay etc, I don't eat. Your whining about where to spend your free cash is pathetic. Be grateful that you have free cash and the option of not having to sell your personal possessions and stuff you'd like to keep just to live.

It would sell out within a few hours max, and my god it would be the ultimate holy grail, so much so it would be free advertising!

Im sure it would! I imagine it would be hard to get licensing and so on for a huge title like that though. I just watched the trailer for this and I have to say surprisingly it looks pretty good!

I am made up with this release as it looks great and if it is anything like JR then the finish will be great. As for the price, compared to the current wave of releases from Zavvi, Amazon (et al) it is a little bit extra, however, just like JR it is a UK exclusive and it is printed in very limited quantities. Also If I want to buy a steel from the BB or FS (through a GB for example)then it can cost upto $40 for the steel, then sometimes GB fees, donations, tips and then I have postage on top of this that can be upto $18. That can potentially make the cost of me getting a steel very bloody expensive so when all is said and done and put into perspective; is £28 expensive for a UK steel?? - Yes!, is £28 expensive for an exclusive steel delivered free to my door in mint condition in a few days time when compared to buying one from abroad?? - No it isn't!, in fact it is very cheap indeed.

I am more than happy to pay this when put in the correct context, if you are not happy to pay this then stop going on about it and take your hate to another thread. Leave us folk who are happy to pay the price alone to discuss the pros of such a cool steel !!

I just wish people would show some respect to others when commenting. Whether someone buys 2,20 or 200 copies that is their choice how they spend their money. There is too much bitching in this forum and it should stop. Concentrate on what YOU are doing and not everybody else. Please be aware that £28.00 may seem expensive to some but not too others. Myself and 1000 other people were happy with the price thats why we paid for it. At the end of the day wea re all collectors but people collect for different reasons. Some for the love of it and some to make a profit. Thats how it goes. Get used to it. To start calling people on here idiots for purchasing it at £28.00 is not acceptable. Anyways I like the look of this steel book and its print run so I bought a copy. That is up to me. My guess is that the people who are bitching are jealous because they missed it or quite simply they couldnt afford it. Lets move on and get on topic and talk about how nice a release this is going to be. I for one are well chuffed with it looks stunning.

I can't see it with the limited print run and the fact it's sold out already. I don't believe Jack Reacher got a reduction either.

I hope ES reconsider their company logo though if they're going to continue stickering releases. The one they have now looks like a graphic lifted from Top Gun. It wouldn't take much to come up with a better design.

For the foreign guys; I got a mail back from Luke (Entertainment Store) they won't sell and ship outside the UK. I mentioned this yesterday, but now I had a conformation about that in the mail.

Let's hope that Zavvi or Amazon.co.uk are comming with a Nice Steelbook.

I'm falling out of love with the steelbook collecting game.

I am not fussed about the price, just would have been nice to have a fair chance of buying a copy within a couple of days at least instead of 2 hours or whatever.

So your telling me that some people are not buying 10+, 20+ at a time? I don't think 1000 copies would have sold that quickly in that short timeframe by people just buying 1 or 2 to be honest. i only wanted 1 for myself but miss out, ES should stick a 2 limit maximum on the next exclusive although that probably won't stop people getting round it by just creating more play accounts.

Anyone that bought 10+ copies fancy doing UK members a favour and organising a UK group buy?

By the way as i am having a rant have Zavvi released another exclusive steel yet, it's been a couple of days
