Hawaii.....

My fiancé and I get married next year and are planning on the following for our honeymoon -

* 5 Nights in San Francisco
* 7 Nights in Maui, Hawaii
* 5 Nights in New York

I was just wondering if anyone who has been to Hawaii can offer any tips/advice? We're looking to stay at the Hyatt Regency and don't want it to be as hectic as SF & NY, but still want things to do/places to go and see with being a bit more relaxed and chilled out.

have you looked into kauai? maui is great, but it is more developed than kauai. both are awesome, but i prefer kauai because it is less developed and it seems more accessible to just pull off the road and find a hike, go snorkeling, grab shave ice, etc. i think Jurassic park was filmed there too. it really depends on what you are looking for. hope this helps.

Haven't really thought about Kauai. We thought Maui was good as we can fly direct from SF to Maui, and then direct from Maui to NY. We are going to see the travel agent in a few weeks to discuss/book so this is something we will look at

It's an island mate... Think of a 10-20% price hike to ballpark it correctly.

Maui is more developed and definitely have more nightlife and a lot more to do. If you go in the summer or towards the end of the summer, you are screwing yourself because no matter what you want to do it will packed...just FYI.

Kauai has a lot more nature stuff since it is still growing in population. You can catch a plane from Maui to Kauai for a 100 or 200, can't remember the fares.
